Summary
The Assistant Corporate Controller is responsible for day-to-day leadership and management of the corporate accounting function. The Assistant Corporate Controller is also responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the Company's underlying financial information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and maintaining an effective internal control environment
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership of day-to-day operations of the Corporate Accounting department to include general ledger accounting across all US domestic brands
Responsible for maintaining and developing internal control procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting and safeguarding of assets. Includes assisting with monitoring effectiveness of internal controls related to the financial reporting function to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
Ownership of the month end closing cycle including timely review of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure sufficient substantiation of balance and reconciling items
Research technical accounting issues, as necessary, to ensure proper application of GAAP
Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all brands
Ensures all transactions are in compliance with company policies & procedures, GAAP, and regulatory/ industry guidelines
Works with the external reporting team to facilitate quarterly and annual SEC reporting
Coordinate with external auditors. Ensures information is accumulated and assembled for audits
Lead and assist in special projects, as necessary

Qualifications
Other Qualifications:
CPA required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
Demonstrates strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Strong financial acumen with demonstrated analytical ability accompanied by knowledge of corporate finance and manufacturing costing principles-understands P&L and balance sheet dynamics
Ability to organize, lead change and motivate cross functionally to meet company objectives.
Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and communication skills
Quickly learns complex processes and procedures, and effectively prioritizes tasks to satisfy deadlines
Coaches, mentors, and develops finance and accounting team by consistently demonstrating a positive professional attitude, integrity, and reliability
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Hyperion, Blackline, Microsoft Great Plains, AS400, and Infor, a plus.
Education and/or Experience: Undergraduate Degree in Accounting or Finance required
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs, calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
