Role Summary
Responsible for supporting 6K's accounting and finance organization to help ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP on various accounting and technical accounting matters. The role will be responsible for managing the month end close process, leading the simplification and unification of transactional accounting processes across 6K's entities, developing accounting policies, procedures, and controls; and implementing new accounting standards. This role has exposure to executive leadership at the Company.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage month end close including cash, accounts receivable, PP&E, accounts payable, accrued expenses and intercompany activity across all 6K entities
Oversee general ledger, equity, and payroll accounting and all GL financial transactions
Coordinate reporting and consolidation of the business entities and ensure timely reporting
Assist with accounting system implementations and drive transaction processing synergies and efficiencies across 6K entities.
Lead compliance of technical accounting matters including equity accounting, lease accounting, revenue accounting, cost accounting, and government grant accounting
Provides timely accounting support to strategic and complex business transactions.
Leads implementation of new accounting standards applicable to 6K
Drafts annual financial statements and footnote disclosures.
Assist the Controller in development, implementation and oversight of company-wide accounting policies, practices, and internal controls consistent with SEC, US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance
Assists with internal control implementation and documentation
Interact with external auditors as it relates to the interim and annual financial statement audit
Provide mentorship and coaching and create foundation to quickly grow/scale the team
Participation in cross functional business partnering to drive business efficiencies.
Assist in special projects, reporting, and analysis as needed
Skills & Competencies:
Experience managing a month end close process
Ability to independently research a complex accounting issue, formulate a view, and prepare documentation.
Highly proficient in Excel
Experience in implementing accounting standards.
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines and excel in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Previous people management with demonstrated ability to develop & coach a team.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables concurrently and pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Professional Background:
B.S. or Master's in accounting
CPA preferred
6+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years of public accounting firm experience.
Experience with cost accounting and developing cost structure from the ground up.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience using both NetSuite and Oracle is a plus
