Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the financial accounting records and manages accounting reports of the Casino. Provides general accounting services focused on maintaining compliance with the company's fixed asset accounting policies and compliance with various unclaimed property rules and regulations.

Practice, support and promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Muckleshoot Casino.Administer the company's automated fixed asset accounting system including independent analyses, problem resolution and reconciliation; development of reports and queries to assist internal customers and external auditors; independently deal with automated system updates and changes through consult with internal financial systems team and external consultants.Process asset capitalizations, transfers, retirements and adjustments

Process depreciation and ensure depreciation does not extend beyond venue contract life or useful life, as applicable.Perform asset reconciliations and Custom contract end date table to REM.Maintain Accounting Management subsystem.Provide external and internal audit support as applicable.Administer the company's unclaimed property compliance program including preparation and reporting, independent interfacing with external consultants and state auditors and establishing venue processes to facilitate unclaimed property compliance.Gather, review and organize payroll, AP, AR and other data to be forwarded for processing.Reconcile unclaimed property accounts.Coordinate supporting documentation obtained from venue sites for applicable audits.Assist in implementing proper procedures for new departments and/or outlets.Perform account reconciliations for various general ledger accounts, clear reconciling items and resolve issues.Perform special projects as assigned by the Director of Finance and/or CGO.Evaluate, implement, operate and maintain accounting systems and cycles.Review and direct the preparation of the monthly and annual financial reports.Coordinate and prepare the annual budget for the upcoming year and subsequent revisions.Maintain the general ledger and all general accounting functions.Assist with the preparation for the annual financial statement audit.Manage cash flow by directing all bank transfers and investments.Supervise, train, evaluate, interview and recommend hiring of staff.Establish accounting procedures as necessary.Perform analytical reviews of operations, self-initiated and as directed.Smile and engage Guests and Team Members with a positive, professional demeanor.Create, maintain and facilitate a positive work environment.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING FOR POSITION (required/preferred):

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required. Master's Degree and/or CPA preferred.

  • Five (5) years accounting experience plus advanced general ledger (account reconciliations, journal entries and bank reconciliations on a computerized general ledger system and fixed assets) required.

  • Three (3) years supervisory experience required.

  • Casino Accounting experience preferred.

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION:

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge, understanding and skills in: accounting; fixed assets; budgeting; financial computer systems; internal controls procedures; and financial reporting.

  • Demonstrate advanced complex mathematical, problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrate ability to effectively and efficiently successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-volume, high- pressure environment.

  • Demonstrate advanced GL System and Excel skills.
