COMPANY PROFILE The Plant Company (TPC) is a newly established business currently expanding into its Phase 2 production facility bringing us to a total of 10 acres Phase 2 encompasses a greenhouse facility along with a production barn. This is a state-of-the-art, controlled environment greenhouse for the sustainable production of tropical indoor foliage plants of consistent and exceptional quality.

"Can Do" Attitude JOB SUMMARY The Assistant Controller will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Manager Responsibilities Oversees adherence to departmental budget. Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for the department.

Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains staff in the department. Ensures accurate payroll for direct reports.

Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Finance Management Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization. Assists with the preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements. Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP principles.

Maintains the general ledger. Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures. Analyzes expenditures to identify areas in need of cost controls Prepare packages of internal accounting ledgers, P&L, and balance sheets for outside accountant tax preparation Aid in the development of accurate reports and spreadsheets for leadership team decision-making.

Accounting Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books. Provide clear direction and oversight to the Accounting Clerk responsible for AP/AR processes. Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.

Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections. Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform an annual audit.

Compliance Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies. Coordinates with software vendors to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software. Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.

Oversight of the monthly and year-end closing process Performs other related duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Proficient in Business Central (BC) Ability to maintain confidential information.

Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Business-related field, is required.

At least 5-6 years of related experience required.

At least 1-3 years of manufacturing environment experience preferred Familiarity with ERP software, Microsoft NAV accounting experience preferred Familiarity with EOS business models is preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
