Job Description

The Department

The Invesco Private Markets (IPM) accounting team is responsible for investor, fund and account level financial reporting, management of the fund treasury process, coordination of annual audits, and coordination and review of investor and fund level tax filing requirements for real estate, debt, and private equity funds. The IPM accounting team is also involved acquisitions and dispositions and coordination with joint venture partners, third party service provides and property management companies.

Your Role

The Assistant Controller is responsible for the financial reporting and oversight of the valuation process and controls for the private credit funds. Additional responsibilities include oversight of the private funds accounting, financial reporting, and fund operations. The Assistant Controller reports to the fund Controller and works with the portfolio management, operations, and fund accounting teams. The Assistant Controller also works closely with the Invesco corporate accounting team

You will be responsible for:

CLO equity funds and other private credit funds:

  • The Assistant Controller is the primary contact for the private credit fund portfolio management team, providing fund and investment related data and conducting fund operations as instructed by the portfolio managers and operations teams.

  • Responsible for oversight of daily operations of the private credit funds and other assigned funds, such as capital calls, management of the lines of credit, distributions, information requests, and special projects.

  • Responsible for overseeing third party service providers in the production of the quarterly reporting and the annual audits for the private credit funds.

  • Work with other departments on the acquisition and disposition of portfolio investments as appropriate.

  • Demonstrate leadership skills by volunteering for special projects in the accounting team.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Private credit funds and CLO equity funds:

  • The Assistant Controller is the primary contact for the Invesco, Ltd. corporate accounting team for matters related to the consolidation of the private credit funds and CLO equity funds.

  • Responsible for overseeing third party service providers that provide data and analysis for the consolidation of the Invesco private credit funds.

  • Responsible for coordinating responses to auditor requests related to the private credit funds, including the related disclosures.

  • Responsible to oversee or otherwise complete the data analysis for disclosures related to the private credit funds consolidated by Invesco Ltd.

  • Assist the fund accounting team with the coordination, preparation, and timely completion of all audit reports for the funds.

  • Assist the Invesco, Ltd. corporate accounting team in reviewing the consolidation files, support therefor, and other analysis required by the corporate accounting team for the consolidated financial statements and disclosures included in the 10Qs and 10K.

The experience you bring:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in accounting/finance

  • CPA preferred

  • Six or more years of related work experience, and at least three years of experience with valuations of private credit and private equity investments

  • Background in public accounting or private investment fund administration sought for position, in particular Microsoft Excel.

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals including both internal and external contacts

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; self-motivated, organized and flexible
