JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of Associate CFO, this position is responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the general ledger staff. Supervise audit preparation for ICL and subsidiaries. The goal is to contribute to keep the accounting and financial processes of the company up to standard and ensure accurate financial reporting and control.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

  • Supervise audit preparation to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

  • Prepares and submits various cost reports as required for agency such as CFR, CBR, and CQR.

  • Supervise finance training to employees and maintain finance policy & procedure manual.

  • Prepare and/or coordinate other regulatory filings, such as but not limited to A-133, 990s, 5500s, CHAR500, etc.

  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets, and Consolidated Financial Reports.

  • Interacts with both internal and external auditors by providing the required documentation and ensuring that the proper information is maintained for historical purposes.

  • Supporting most aspects of accounting management.

  • Assisting in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices.

  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.

  • Other related job functions as maybe assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

BSc/BA in Finance, Accounting or relevant field is preferred. MBA or Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus. Proven experience as a Controller or other similar position for a minimum of five years, preferably in the social service sector. Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations. Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.). Understanding of data analysis and forecasting. Working knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and accounting software (preferably Dynamics). Well-organized with ability to prioritize. Very good communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication, written communication, presentation and organizational skills.

  • Intermediate to Excellent PC skills, including MS Office experience, including Excel (spreadsheets), Word (word processing) & PowerPoint (presentations) and accounting software such as Dynamic and Anasazi.

  • Ability to multitask, consistently meets deadlines, and demonstrates strong time management skills.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.

  • Supporting most aspects of accounting management.

  • Assisting in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices.

  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.

  • Ability to understand and adhere to all corporate compliance and other regulatory requirements governing the functions of the position.

This position will be responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting and will be responsible in assisting the North Americas Controller for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of Financial Statements. It addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including General Ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. This position will have contact with senior-level employees and the firm's CFO and Global Controller which requires strong written and verbal communication skills. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES * Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and General Ledger structure * Report and work closely with Controller for month end close processes within a short time frame * Oversee and assist in all aspects of monthly, quarterly and year end close * Ensure accuracy of Financial Statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies * Conduct reconciliations of all major GL accounts * Oversee and assist in AR, AP and payroll functions as required * Oversee and assist the AR team in the daily banking requirements and bank reconciliations * Support monthly budgeting and forecasting activities * Collaborate with global finance departments to support overall department goals and objectives * Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year end audit * Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department * Monthly Balance Sheet and P & L Fluctuation Analysis * Monthly expense variance analysis against the cash forecast * Monthly Non-Recharge T&E analysis – reconciliation between the Sub-Ledger and GL to ensure proper accounting of each cost center. Create and disseminate costs to Management on a monthly basis * Consolidate inter-company transactions and reconciliations including foreign currency accounting * Assist in providing all necessary data for any tax returns (Property, sales and use tax and corporate returns) * Interface with management in various departments, including Operations, HR, Marketing, IT and legal. * Support Assistant Controller and Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, MBA or CPA is plus * 7+ years prior experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area with 3 years working as a Senior Accountant, professional services experience is preferred * Experience with large automated accounting systems, preferably with PeopleSoft and/or Anaplan * Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel is required * Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required * Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required Why Join Capco?
