Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc. is an infrastructure contractor that excels at large, complex projects. Our projects include highways, bridges over land and water, tunnels, wastewater and potable water treatment plants and rail civils. Balfour Beatty Infrastructure in Wilmington, North Carolina is seeking an Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will assist the Controller and/or CFO with the financial affairs of the organization and with preparation of financial analyses of operations for the guidance of management. Directs and supervises the financial services staff in accounting and financial reporting/analysis activities.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares and analyzes reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expense, and earnings based upon past, present and expected operations and risks. This may include: summary reports on project progress, monthly overhead reports, balance sheet, financial statement, income statement, etc.

  • Prepares and approves all journal entries.

  • Participates in various internal financial audits.

  • Maintains financial projection system.

  • Reviews owner contracts.

  • Coordinates and prepares quarterly projections and annual plan in concert with Operations management.

  • Analyzes and communicates to management variances between projections and actuals.

  • Ensures compliance with accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • 7 years or more of experience in an Accountant or Finance role.

  • Extensive knowledge/experience in U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required.

  • Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, accounting applications and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).

  • Periodic travel to job sites is required.

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

  • Accounting or Finance experience in the A/E/C industry, highly desired.

  • Supervises and develops direct reports while prioritizing and delegating significant responsibilities to others.

  • Demonstrates solid presentation skills and verbal/written skills.

  • Demonstrates the ability to organize people, tools and equipment to orchestrate multiple activities at once.

The Director Infrastructure & Cloud Services is responsible for achieving operational goals and internal metrics as well as ensuring successful completion of approved projects in pursuit of department goals and the strategic vision of the Information Services department. The Director Infrastructure & Cloud Services will assist in developing and managing the Operational and Capital budgets and have personnel management responsibility for technical, managerial and administrative staff, and be responsible for staff, systems and vendor relationships. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: 1. Directs technical managers for several Information Services Infrastructure cost centers. 2. Ensures Operational metrics are defined and achieved. 3. Ensures projects are executed on-time and on-budget 4. Develops, manages and oversees budgets and budgetary performance in accordance with organizational goals, best practices and benchmarks. 5. Communicates effectively with Technical, Clinical and Administrative personnel at all levels of the organization to achieve the highest levels of customer service. 6. Works collaboratively with I.S. and NHRMC management to develop tactical and strategic plans. 7. Drives quality and efficiency, consistently seeks opportunities to apply technology to improve operational and clinical outcomes. 8. Has a deep knowledge and interest in technology, remains up-to-date with latest technology trends. 9. Thrives in a technically challenging and demanding environment where system stability and system availability are essential. 10. Manages vendor relationships needed to attain operational goals and complete projects. 11.
