POSITION SUMMARY

This position will manage general ledgers, financial statements, accounts payable, sales, and analytical reports to help guide management decisions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manage the month-end close process

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff

• Manage the Accounts Payable system and team

• Prepare monthly financial statements

• Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations

• Prepare for the annual audit and assist external auditors

• Manage the tax provision process and coordinate the preparation of income tax returns

• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules

• Maintain warehouse storage facility for document retention and coordinate shredding of accounting documents

• General Ledger and vendor set up for new stores

• Reconcile intercompany accounts

• Oversee all aspects of the accounting process for new subsidiaries

• Manage buildings and equipment lease accounting

• Handle corporate bank reconciliations

• Review sales and use tax returns

• Review annual report filings

• Work with the Controller and CFO on special projects

• Backup to cash management function

• Backup to Senior Accountant and Payroll Specialist

• Other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Things to keep in mind:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

• 2 to 3 years of public accounting experience

• Strong knowledge of GAAP

• General Ledger experience desired

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

• Previous supervisory experience
