Under limited direction, responsible for management of the general accounting functions and the preparation of reports reflecting earnings, profits, cash flow, and other financial results. Formulates and administers approved accounting practices throughout the division to assure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information necessary to control operations. Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises the cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and other general accounting activities as required.
Responsible for planning and scheduling of staff's work to meet specified objectives internal, group and corporate requirements and deadlines.
Supervises the maintenance of company general ledgers. Responsible for complete, accurate and efficient transaction processing.
Responsible for significantly improving the month end closing processes to three days including approval of journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting account analysis.
Produces timely and accurate financial statements, compliant with generally accepted accounting principles, meeting corporate reporting requirements.
Participates in or directs the development of accounting policy and administers approved internal controls, accounting procedures and workflows.
Responsible for sales tax compliance and preparation of periodic sales and income tax information packages as required.
Develop a fundamental knowledge of the ERP system and look for ways to streamline and error proof process.
Provides leadership on aspects of improvement in automated system functionality on system implementations and upgrades.
Manages operational data and ensuring data integrity/accuracy, developing proper documentation, internal control and troubleshooting procedures.
Helps drive the significant amount of Sox testing by have daily meeting at critical times and pulling the team in to complete deadlines.
Provides technical accounting support to company owned locations.
Works with the other departs to provide information needed to understand reports.
Ability to work independently and solve problem without help.
May perform some functions of Divisional Controller in his/her absence.
Ready to assume the responsibilities of a Controller for a large single site business
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
Big Four experience plus either an MBA degree or CPA highly desired.
At least seven (7) to ten (10) years directly related experience required, including department supervision experience.
LN Infor experience will be a big plus.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and the inter-relationships of accounting objectives to other functional areas of the company. Must have demonstrated ability to plan and schedule objectives and apply systematic solutions to accounting problems. Must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products as well as experience using, understanding and leveraging the capabilities of integrated ERP software packages and supporting third party sub-systems. Must possess excellent communication skills with an ability to exchange information and interface effectively with employees and/or customers clearly and concisely. Expected to have latitude and creativity and should exercise good judgment, time management, planning skills and leadership traits.
