Summary of Position:
Our Assistant Controller holds a critical role within our finance team. In this key role, you will manage a team responsible for our consolidated monthly close. You will be involved with projects to enhance our systems and processes and will be instrumental in preparing for and managing our annual external audit. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, interpersonal skills and a focus on process improvement initiatives are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
Along with the Global Controller, lead the accounting department as we plan and execute projects to improve systems, processes, and procedures.
Drive the monthly G/L closing, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
Establish a company-wide policy for intercompany transactions and manage the reconciliation and elimination of I/C activity for consolidated reporting.
Supervise a team of six professionals responsible for monthly close, maintenance of the general ledger, account reconciliations and analyses, etc.
Review team's general ledger reconciliations, provide feedback and coaching to team to develop their skills.
Assist in preparation and review of monthly entries necessary to produce consolidated results (elimination of intercompany profit, and other consolidation entries as required)
Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements for management and bank reporting.
Keep up to date on accounting standards; work with team to implement new standards and draft technical accounting memorandums as necessary.
Help lead the annual external audit process.
Assist with implementation of OneStream's account reconciliation and task modules.
Focus on continuous improvement of the overall accounting and finance department.
Assess internal control environment and implement enhanced internal controls.
Update and draft relevant accounting policies and communicate with finance organizations to ensure compliance.
Assist with business combinations accounting support.
Lead/assist with ad-hoc questions / projects as needed.
Requirements
Requirements
BA or BS in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 8-10 years' experience; mix of public accounting and industry experience is preferred.
CPA required, MBA a plus.
Demonstrate a focus on continuous improvement and process excellence.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Proficient in MS Excel including Pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.
Proficient knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
Knowledge of OneStream or other consolidation tool a plus
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines effectively and efficiently.
