Job Summary

Brown & Brown of Florida's Jacksonville office is growing and seeking an exceptional individual with proven discipline, and commitment to join our team as Assistant - Commercial Insurance Team. This individual provides client administrative support to Commercial Lines Account Managers.

Seeking an eager, highly motivated individual to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time entry level position with an expectation of advancement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process certificates of insurance / evidence of property-daily and renewals.

  • Process changes endorsements and monthly reports.

  • Issue Auto ID cards.

  • Prepare policies for delivery.

  • Order loss runs and prepare loss summaries.

  • Order Motor Vehicle Reports.

  • Assist with claim data entry. Obtain claim status reports. Close claims.

  • Process Dead files (file setup, Applied activity input/filing).

  • Front Desk backup.

  • Perform clerical functions including, but not limited to, processing/sending faxes, proofreading, and photocopying documents.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Skills

  • 2+ years data entry and administrative experience in any office setting required

  • 4-40 or 2-20 P&C License with some insurance office customer service experience highly preferred

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Word

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Complete tasks timely and accurately

  • Confidence, Initiative

  • Organized, Detail-Oriented

  • Ability to maintain standards of quality and quantity of output as established by Commercial Lines Management

  • High School Diploma required, some college or degree a plus

The candidate will provide legal advice and counsel to all levels of company leadership. Job duties may include but are not limited to: * Legal support and guidance regarding insurance products for individual, group markets and Medicare Advantage including product contract development and benefit design. * Ancillary product (life, long-term care, dental, disability, etc.) and Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance matters. * Support for product regulatory issues related to outsourced services, e.g. pharmacy, mental health and other vendor managed benefits. * Support for state and/or federal regulatory inquiries and/or investigations (e.g. FLOIR, DFS, CCIIO and/or DOL investigations/inquiries). * Review and/or draft legal documents. * Manage legal matters or projects with the supervision of other more senior attorneys. * May also be asked to assume additional responsibilities as requested by management. Job Requirements: * Graduate of an accredited law school with strong academic record and five to ten years of professional experience. Such professional experience can be in-house or at a law firm and can be on behalf of insurance organizations or related entities. * Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and admission to at least one state bar. If bar admission is in a state other than Florida, then the ability to be certified in Florida as Authorized House Counsel. * Experience with compliance and regulatory laws regarding the Affordable Care Act including but not limited to, mandated benefits, Qualified Health Plan certification process, and U.S. Department of Labor laws/regulations. * Experience with and application of health insurance and managed care laws, regulations and compliance standards. * General knowledge of corporate and commercial law. Demonstrated experience developing legal strategies and procedures. * Excellent written and verbal presentation skills. * Demonstrated initiative and self-starter. * Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships at all levels throughout the organization.
