Position Summary
Concordia University invites applicants to the position of Assistant Coach for Women's Volleyball program in the Athletics Department. The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in administering the following aspects of the program including: coaching, recruiting, fund-raising, and compliance with NAIA, and conference rules/regulations. This is a part-time position.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Program Organization and Administration
Assist with planning and implementing day-to- day operations with the volleyball program.
Academic monitoring and communication
Mentoring student-athletes in spiritual and personal growth
Assist with travel plans and meals
Build and improve upon alumni & fundraising opportunities.
Recruitment of Student-Athletes
Coordinate with the head coach on recruitment of qualified student-athletes
Attend showcase/tournament games in order to search, contact, and build relationships with future student-athletes.
Consistent contact with recruits and facilitate recruit campus visits
On-Court Coaching & Workouts Facilitation
Leading individual skill instruction groups
Leading and assisting with practice segments
Assist with in-game coaching
Monitor development of players and instruct ways for improvement
Administrative/ Other
Additional duties include assisting with summer camps,
Attend Volleyball and/or Athletic Department Functions including, but not limited to, meetings, chapel, game ops, etc.
Perform all duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics.
Adhere to NAIA and WHAC
Other duties as assigned

Demonstrates effective leadership, organizational skills, and is a self-starter
Exhibits a willingness and ability to work with diverse individuals and organizations
Able to deal with interruptions and work in a fast-paced environment
Able to present a Christian and professional manner
Candidates should possess strong written and oral communications skills

Education & Experience
A bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Prior relevant work or internship experience within the sport required.

Compensation & Benefits
This is a part-time, exempt staff position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience. There are no benefits associated with this position.
