The Assistant Coach for Women's Sailing supports the Director of Cornell University Sailing in the planning and operation of the Women's Sailing program at Cornell University. This includes assisting with team practice and competitions and providing input on player evaluation and other decisions concerning team operations. In addition, the Assistant Coach will actively support the scouting of opponents and the breakdown of our own performances. The Assistant Coach also has both on- and off-campus recruiting responsibilities, to identify, encourage and evaluate application and acceptance of student athletes at Cornell in accordance with the Ivy League, NCAA and University policies as assigned by the head coach. This position also assists with team travel, home regatta management, budgeting, and scheduling.

This is a full-time, 10-month position. Starting pay is $51,700-$54,290 for this position; final offer will depend on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and coaching/playing experience.

  • Credentials should reflect proven success in coaching, recruiting, and working with student athletes.

  • Knowledgeable of NCAA, Ivy, and ICSA rules and regulations

  • Must be highly motivated with an outstanding work ethic and a relentless recruiter.

  • Collegiate coaching experience preferred, specifically in NCAA Division I

  • Experience with ICSA events at all levels.

  • This position requires a clean, valid unrestricted driver's license that has been in effect for at least three years, and the ability meet DOT standards for driver's license.

  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.

  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
