Assistant Coach - Field Hockey - Bellarmine University

Job Description:

Bellarmine University Athletics has an immediate opening for an Assistant Field Hockey Coach. This position will assist the Head Field Hockey Coach with all phases of a Division I Field Hockey program.

Requirements:

• Assist the head coach in framing and coaching the University's team.

• Recruit student-athletes per NCAA Division I regulations and academic standards and university academic requirements.

• Communicate regularly with Head Coach concerning admissions, eligibility, recruiting, and other procedures relating to the sport.

• Assist in planning and coordinating in-season and out-of-season practices, including individual skill instruction and team workouts, focusing on developing athletic skills to compete at the Division I level.

• Assist in the planning and implementing of game plans for each game, including the development of scouting reports of opponents.

• Monitor the academic progress of the field hockey student-athletes. Effectively communicate with Athletics Academic Advisor to ensure any academic concerns are addressed.

• Ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of people in a manner that positively portrays the University, its programs, and its personnel.

• Promote a culture of inclusion, working effectively within a culture of individuals with diverse backgrounds, styles, abilities, and motivations.

• Assist in scheduling games as directed by the Head Coach.

• Participate in fundraising activities for the women's field hockey program (camps/showcases) and/or Department of Athletics.

• Abide by and comply with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Conference rules, academic standards, requirements, and policies of the Department of Athletics and University.

• Contribute to the overall success of the University's intercollegiate athletics program by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
