About this role

The assistant clinical coordinator collaborates with physicians and care providers to coordinate day to day patient care. Job involves working with patients, physicians and support staff to meet patient goals successfully. Responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties relating to the updating and organizing of information on the nursing units; coordinating work with the unit as well as with other units and departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries and requests from staff and personnel.

What you will do

Coordinate and comprehend clinic schedules. Performs various clerical duties relating to the updating and organizing of information on the medical units as illustrated by maintenance tasks relating to chart order, chart accuracy, and chart current data. Answers the telephone in a professional manner, direct calls to appropriate individuals and/or take messages. Stocks units with office and medical supplies. Prepares requisitions to maintain established inventories. Faxes and photocopies information as needed. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the medical unit as well as within other units and departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information. Respond to inquiries relating to his/her particular area within given timeframes and within established policy. Processes a variety of information regarding patient care. Keeps all necessary lists and schedules. Coordinate patient appointments. Perform other duties as assigned.

Assists all nurses with performing activities commensurate with his/her education and demonstrated competencies.</p><p>Additional Details</p><p>Assists with new telemedicine implementations and new telemedicine provider startup including: o support for initial request receipt and review o provider alignment o initial site communications o technology implementation and training o telemedicine process coordination. • Provides technical support for sites utilizing telemedicine services. • Facilitates telemedicine provider and vendor schedules across multiple facilities. • Facilitates key program meetings and takes and distributes meeting minutes. • Creates and distributes program communications as needed in accordance with program communication plan. • Scribe duties to include documentation entry in collaboration with physician, behavioral health clinician or mid-level provider to enter medical data into a paper or electronic format. Must have Phlebotomy experience. This position will float to SCI Greene, SCI Fayette, SCI Laurel Highlands, SCI Somerset and Progress CCC</p><p>What you bring to the table</p><p>Education:</p><ul><li>Completed an accredited MA course</li></ul><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience preferred</li></ul><p>Licenses/Certifications:</p><ul><li><p>Currently certified as a Medical Assistant in the State if certification is required by the State</p></li><li><p>For states that do not require this position to be certified, a certification is not required</p></li><li><p>Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification</p></li></ul><p>What you will do</p><p>Consult with and is responsible to RN's and other staff as appropriate. Implements clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies and procedures. <br><br> Intervenes with proper technique, procedures and safety precautions to meet individual needs of patient. Participates in gathering information on patient history. Verifies medications. <br><br> Makes appropriate referrals for follow-up. Adhere to work the work schedule as designated by your supervisor to ensure continuity of care for the patient and maintenance of staffing matrix for the client. Respond to code, or patient crisis as set forth by the sites policy and procedure. <br><br> Assists health care practitioner as assigned. Adhere to infection control techniques and principles. Provides for emotional and physical comfort and safety of patients. <br><br> Assists in maintaining working areas, supplies, and equipment in good working order. Attends mandatory staff meetings/ training. Respects dignity and confidentiality of patients. <br><br> Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance. Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations. <br><br> Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details. Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis. Post orders, if applicable, per site contract.
