So what's it like to work on the Argo Group US Claims Team?

Well, it's different, and, quite frankly, not for everyone. While this role is within the Operations segment of the Claims team, we think it is important for you also know what the Adjusting team is like, as hopefully you will aspire to develop your career with us to an Adjusting role when the opportunity is available to do so. Unlike many TPAs and some other carriers, we do not treat our claims or our claims professionals as a commodity. The work we offer is challenging and diversified. Our Adjusters and Managers are empowered to exercise their independent discretion and, within broad limits and authority, be creative in developing solutions and treat each case as the unique situation it is. We have a very flat organizational structure, so that our Adjusters and Managers have more opportunities to interact with our senior management team, especially when it comes to presenting case conferencing on large losses. Our entire claims team, including our Operations team, works in a collaborative nature to expeditiously handle claims. We offer a work environment that inspires innovation and is open to employee suggestions, even offering a reward for the best creative idea each quarter. We allow fully performing employees the flexibility to work from their home up to two days a week once they have been fully trained. While we work hard, a work/life balance is just as important so that our employees are fully focused while working.

Sound like a team you would like to join?

First you'll want to make sure you embody our core values as they are the key to our success:

  • We desire to excel

  • We are committed to our clients and to each other

  • We have the courage to do the right thing

  • We apply original thinking

Second, you'll want to make sure the challenge sounds interesting to you. In this role you will:

  • Provide clerical support to a nationwide team of claims adjusters and aide in facilitating timely and accurate management of claims by entering stop/cancel/release of checks, processing cash receipts, work check exceptions, and completion of complex state forms.

  • Keep our claims data accurate by inputting data and policy information for new and existing claims.

  • Extensively communicate with our customers and enhance their customer experience by answering incoming calls, processing electronic mail, preparing written correspondence, and processing outgoing mail.

What will you need to be successful here?

  • We are on the telephone most of the day, so the ability to communicate clearly on the telephone is crucial. The ability to read, speak, and write English and speak Spanish fluently is required.

  • At least one year of experience in the insurance industry is required.

  • A relentless desire to continually update your skill level through continuing education and self-development (we're a bit fanatical about this, so you should be too). So we strongly prefer you have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university.

  • Highly accurate typing with speed of at least 50 wpm.

  • Strong PC skills, including extensive experience working on Windows and good knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • This is a fast paced environment. To be successful, you must be extremely detail oriented, and organized enough to prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • You will work as part of a team, so you must be a team player and must be comfortable collaborating with peers to achieve common goals in a team environment. In addition, you must have a high level of integrity and the ability to earn the trust of co-workers.

  • A high sense of responsibility and pride in completing a work product of excellence.

What else would be helpful for me to be successful here?

The following would be helpful for you to currently possess, but if you don't, no worries. We can help you learn these things after you start working for us.

  • Experience with ImageRight and MS Access a plus.

What will we provide to you?

  • An opportunity to be your best and work with talented and inventive professionals at a Company Forbes magazine named to its list of America's 50 Most Trustworthy Financial Companies for the last two years and that A.M. Best has rated an 'A' (Excellent) for 13 consecutive years.

  • Base pay and profit sharing.

  • Comprehensive benefits designed to protect and enhance your life and your dependents' lives by way of health and wellness plans, life insurance, a matching 401(k) Plan, generous PTO and an opportunity to become a shareholder at a 15% discount.

  • Argo Academy, a digital and instructor-led platform that helps us focus on continuous learning and which, by the way, got us named in Training magazine as one of the 2017 Training Top 125 Companies!

  • Opportunities to support your local community though various outreach programs or by matching your gift to charitable causes by 150%.
