Burns & McDonnell has exciting opportunities in our Phoenix office. This specific need will work in our power generation market segment and will focus on renewable and fossil fuel generation and transmission facilities along with civil engineering support of environmental and mining projects. This position will be responsible for assisting lead Civil Engineers with the following tasks:
Erosion control & storm water pollution prevention design
Utility design and routing
Plant pond design
Utility waste disposal facility design
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from accredited program.
Zero to three years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience).
Completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam strongly preferred.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build and leverage strong client relationships.
Ability to effectively interface with internal and external clients.
Autodesk Civil3D modeling experience strongly preferred, with large-scale grading and design of storm water controls a plus
MicroStation experience a plus
FLO-2D, HEC-RAS, and other hydrology or hydraulic design or modeling experience preferred.
Construction-phase project engineering, cost estimating, and scheduling a plus.
Candidates must be available for travel to and from project sites and be able to collect information in support of design and construction.
Valid driver's license required and must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy
Interest in pursuing Professional Engineering licensure is required.
