Key Responsibilities:

  • Departmental Oversight: Lead and support department heads in achieving operational excellence and delivering exceptional services to our community.

  • Strategic Support: Collaborate closely with the City Manager to advance City Council priorities and strategic goals.

  • Project Leadership: Drive cross-departmental projects, ensuring seamless coordination and effective stakeholder engagement.

  • Financial Stewardship: Assist in budget monitoring and fiscal management within assigned departments to ensure prudent financial practices and accountability.

  • Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with stakeholders and represent the city professionally in various forums and engagements.

  • Administrative Excellence: Prepare insightful reports, present at city council meetings, and provide strategic counsel to department heads.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years in municipal management with significant supervisory experience. Prior experience as an Assistant City Manager or Department Head is highly valued.

  • Skills: Strong project management, financial acumen, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word and Excel). Exceptional communication and presentation skills are essential.

Special Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between facilities and external agencies as required.
