As a part of the Merchandising team, the Assistant Category Manager supports the development of merchandise assortments and business strategies that drive strong financial results. This position is responsible for managing the daily operation of the department including planning, developing, and coordinating all information related to advertising and the needs of the business. The Assistant Category Manager communicates with vendors and serves as the key department contact for stores and our support center.

Responsibilities:

  • Advertising, Marketing, Visual and sales support, responsible for managing department attribution, photography, product turnover, advertising and, promotional signage for the stores.

  • Review and proof store signage and all advertising vehicles, i.e. flyers, tabs, emails.

  • Generate and maintain SKU set up information.

  • Manage drop ship vendors.

  • Communicate with internal and external partners.

Job Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree or commensurate work experience a plus.

  • 2+ years experience as an Assistant Category Manager preferred.

  • Flexibility to adapt to a quickly changing business environment and varying priorities.

  • Able to coordinate and prioritize high work volume and pressing time lines.

  • Demonstrate flexibility, initiative and the ability to work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced, resulted driven environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and work in a team environment.

  • Detail-oriented and an ability to detect inconsistencies in data.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint, V-Lookup.

  • Strong business math skills.

What we're looking for: You are a motivated and passionate Procurement Professional. You have a minimum of 7 years of Indirect Procurement experience and a minimum 3 years of category management experience. You are a leader familiar with developing and working on plans that will translate into action the needs of the business and ensure that Citrix has the most appropriate end-to-end Procurement category strategy while addressing spend management, demand management, sourcing management, contract life cycle management, supplier performance/relationship management, procure-to-pay optimization, process/systems improvement, risk mitigation, supplier diversity, social responsibility, and business standards & policies. Position summary: As a Principal Category Manager you will be tasked with a complex role in driving strategic and operational excellence through the application of various procurement levers while being a primary advisor to your business partners. You will have multiple categories, typically covering $100M+ in third-party spend, relationship management with key internal business partners including the C-suite and engaging top suppliers. You will also develop and modify your category strategy through the analysis of data from a range of sources, which will be utilized to identify solutions aligned to business needs. Further, as a Principal Category Manager you will be accountable for the implementation and operationalization of the category strategy. As a Principal Category Manager your role is not the same in every category. Some categories require a more analytical approach to derive valuable insights, while others are either more market-facing or internal business partner-facing. However, there are some overall key skills/traits/qualifications that successful Principal Category Managers should possess as outlined in this job description. Primary Duties / Responsibilities: * Development of appropriate end-to-end Procurement category strategies endorsed by key business partners and Procurement leadership in support of broader Citrix business objectives. * Driving business value through the application of commercial, functional and process optimization leadership and change management. * Partnering with internal business partners & key suppliers utilizing segmentation strategies, communication and engagement planning, business reviews, problem to resolution activity targeting, and general ongoing relationship management efforts. * Gathering of insights from data analysis, research, intelligence, knowledge, networking and proposals. * Establishment, leading and adherence to category governance structures, and other relevant Citrix and Citrix Procurement business policies & procedures. * Operationalization of category strategies and Procurement programs, (i.e., Supplier Value Optimization, Preferred Supplier, Cash Retention, Contracts, Risk Mitigation, Buying Channels, Supplier Enablement, etc.). * Leading category and project cross-functional teams and coordinating change management. * Identification of business requirements and cross-organizational knowledge to prioritize, enhance collaboration and leverage the highest value opportunities in order of priority. * Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective supply markets, business demand, disrupters and innovation to identify opportunities to improve value for delivery. * Conduct data management of assigned category taxonomy, spend and contract data to ensure it is proper maintained and is involved in corrective action as needed to ensure accuracy and usefulness. * Provide assistance to Citrix's merger & acquisition strategies and special projects by completing the due diligence and any integration activities for assigned categories. Preferred Qualifications: * You possess preferred experience in the following areas: Negotiation Strategy Development & Application, Demand Management, Lean Six Sigma, Agile Process Development, Purchase-to-Pay Optimization, Supplier Value Optimization, Problem Solving, Change Management, Appropriate Communication Style(s), Project Management, Strategy Development and Implementation, Supply Markets for respective categories, Sourcing Processes, Legal Contract Terms, Conditions and Structure, Contract Life Cycle Management, Spend Management, Technology Sourcing and Contracting, and Managed Service Workers/ Professional Services and Consulting market familiarity, * Experience in the use of financial statements and applying financial analysis techniques to analyze reports, synthesize and interpret performance and seeking ways to reduce costs while delivering value. * Experience working with leading suppliers, implementing relationship management programs, leading complex negotiations and generating value. * Strong disposition towards "make it happen" attitude, teamwork, leadership as a change agent and "leaving egos at the door". * Direct experience in the utilization and optimization of RFx processes. * Experience in security and data privacy or working with supplier Data Processing Agreements. * Ability to work with and lead geographically disperse cross-functional teams to achieve company goals. * Demonstrated success in leading a multi-disciplinary global team in a project-type environment. * Comfortability communicating and influencing at all levels of an organization. * Involvement in other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: * Requires mastery level knowledge of job area obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have deep knowledge of project management. * Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience; or Master's degree with 8 years; or PhD with 5 years of experience.
