Position: Assistant Buyer
Location: Atlanta, Georgia - Hybrid

The Opportunity: The Assistant Buyer will assist Buyer(s) with a variety of merchandising functions such as assortment, pricing, vendor management, inventory planning, and forecasting. The Assistant Buyer will also assist in the management of category promotional, marketing activity and web content.
What You Will Do:
Collaborate with Buyers to formulate and implement strategy for assigned categories based on customer needs, financial goals, industry trends, and competitive activity leveraging supplier's input and expertise
Support Buyers to optimize product pricing subject to company objectives such as revenue, and profit margin
Maintain content database and loads to website product specifications, images, content and relevant item information
Coordinate with cross functional resources to ensure products are correctly set up in systems
Assist Accounts Payable with invoice resolution and pricing discrepancies
Aid Buyers in determining best supply sources based on product strategy, supplier performance (scorecard), discounts, and over-all supplier capabilities and performance
Act as liaison between Merchandising and other departments such as Fulfillment, Accounting, and Customer Care with high emphasis on customer service
Maintain consistent feedback loop with cross functional teams to monitor impacts of strategy
Ensure policies and procedures are followed and discrepancies are documented and resolved taking ownership to deliver improvement opportunities
Leverage retail and operational best practices to ensure product content is most effective in communicating value to the end user as well as employer audience
The Experience You Will Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field
2+ years of Merchandising, Purchasing and Planning experience in a fast-paced environment
Proven knowledge of forecasting and inventory management
Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Retail Industry experience with concentration in computers, consumer electronics and/or furniture
Process documentation experience
Exceptional analytical skills and data oriented
Must be reliable, take initiative, and be able to work in fast paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Oracle system
Experience in Retail or eCommerce industry
