Assistant Buyer

Position Description

This position interacts with the public and disseminates information to prospective vendors. This position uses contracts, quotes, and other statistical data to create and electronically store purchase orders.

This position schedules and operates as the primary point of contact for city auctions by reviewing department lists, uploading items online, advertising, and monitoring online activity and property pick up. This position assists the Buyer with purchasing card maintenance and monthly statement processing.

The city offers vacation and sick leave, as well as ten paid holidays. Full time employees earn two weeks of vacation during their first year of employment and 10 hours of sick leave a month.

What We're Looking For

Assistant Buyer

• Associate's degree or equivalent required. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training. Two years of experience in purchasing or a business related field and a valid Texas driver's license also required.
