  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe Sign, Teams, Zoom, and other relevant software.

  • Effective oral and written communication in English with internal staff, external clients, and other business representatives to convey information clearly and understand communications from others.

  • Understand oral and written job instructions.

  • Self-motivated, leading by example, active listening, taking direction, responding to constructive criticism, giving feedback, interacting courteously with others, having a positive attitude, highly dependable, and effectively working as a team player.

Preferred Qualifications

Job Description

The Assistant Business Manager provides program support and assists in coordinating the daily operations of the business office.

Job Duties

Management of Human Resources:

  • Coordinate the hiring and separations of FTE (full-time) Staff, Student Workers, Non-Student/Non-Regular employees, and temporary agency hires. Coordinate recruiting and performance management for the department. Electronically maintain personnel documents in accordance with the University Records Retention Schedule. Communicate Human Resources information to Center staff.

Management of staff onboarding, off-boarding, and technology:

  • Responsible for staff on and off-boarding, including orientation information needed to navigate the Center and the Center's policies and procedures, office furniture/computer/phone set-up, updating and distribution of Center contact lists, scheduling, and oversight of the exit-interview process. Manages access to the S Drive, including creation and permissions related to shared folders and Center email accounts.

Assist with tracking work-study student-worker:

  • Assure that allocations for regular and community services work-study are not exceeded.

Assist with processing contracts and professional service agreements, both internal and external:

  • Process/expedite all internal services contracts, external services contracts under $15k, and professional service agreements as needed, including all related documents (contract reviews, edits, and amendments).

Maintain Human Resource records retention for the department:

  • Compliance with the University Records Retention Schedule.

Oversee Meadows Policy and Procedures, grievances, conflict resolution, and other HR programs:

  • Manage the Center's Policy and Procedure process. Assist staff with navigating the University Office of Human Resources for dealing with grievances, conflict resolution, and accessing other HR programs. Serve as a staff liaison with the Office of Human Resources.

Other duties as assigned to support the Business Manager and Director of Operations.
