Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

In a Retail bank branch, proactively sells the bank's products and services to existing customers and prospects, guides the sales efforts of the platform team, ensures superior customer service levels, and manages the daily operations. Incumbent will balance policy and procedure with appropriate judgement, makes management decisions that are mutually beneficial to the bank and the customer.

  • Under the direction of the branch manager, assists with the daily management of a large banking office, typically defined as having over $100 million in deposits and/or a staffing complement of 10.0 or more FTE.

  • Responsible for achievement of personal sales goals, and proactively guiding the sales activities of the platform staff toward achievement of branch goals. Through tested techniques, engage in sales and service coaching sessions with sales staff.

  • Responsible for daily branch operations to include overdraft management, vault management, branch schedules, the opening and closing of the office, and other such duties. Responsible for branch's adherence to audit/compliance requirements.

  • Manages customer service levels within the branch, adhering to established guidelines.

  • Consistently applies Human Resource policy for routine aspects of management, and as performance issues arise. May prepare and deliver performance appraisals for subordinates as directed by Branch Manager.

  • Expected to have / gain full understanding of the teller function.

Education and Experience:

  • One-to-two years of management experience in a retail banking environment required, preferably in the role of Assistant Branch Manager. For incumbents who have tenure with the bank, must have a history of solid sales, service and any applicable management successes.

  • Incumbent may enter this position with annuity / insurance licence(s) (series 6 / 63) but if not, may be expected to obtain it/them within six months of hire.

  • Associates / Bachelors degree prefered

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Incumbent must have the ability to work independently, multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

  • Individual should be an outgoing self-starter and be technically literate.

  • Basic business acumen and professionalism is a must.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical.

  • Ability to build relationships and strong alliances across the organization.

  • Ability to quickly learn all there is to know about the products and services offered by the bank.

  • Must retain and build upon product knowledge base as a member of the division's management team.

  • Should have an understanding of the "big picture" in banking i.e. answers to questions like: How does a bank make money? What makes a product profitable?

Working Conditions:

  • May be required to lift and/or move coin/currency bags weighing 25-30 pounds.

Some of your responsibilities will include: * Staff Management: * Create staffing schedules with the assurance that all shifts are regularly covered. * Lead by example and maintain consistent accountability for direct reports by training and coaching staff members to provide exceptional customer service. * Administer and process all weekly/bi-weekly employee payroll. * Prepare and submit all HR related forms in a timely manner. * Resolve employee issues or concerns in a professional manner. * Manage disciplinary/termination activities. * Provide backup support for any employee who is absent. * Customer Service/Front Desk Activities: * Greet members and guests, providing exceptional customer service and doing your best to make members feel comfortable and welcomed! * Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions. * Check members in, tour and sign up new members, log amenities and communicate updates and events to members and guests. * Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner. * Conduct beverage or merchandise purchases on the point of sale system. * Member Accounts: * Utilize POS system to assist with new membership cards, change of address and billing or payment questions. * Authorize expenditures and refunds. * Club Cleanliness and Maintenance: * Keep the front desk area and lobby clean and orderly. * Regular facility cleaning and upkeep such as mopping up spills under equipment, trash removal, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights. * Regular cleaning of all exercise equipment and tanning beds. * Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked and clutter free by creating and following routine cleaning schedule. * Oversee the safety of employees, members and club property by determining when equipment or facilities are in need of repair and communicating to Facilities Maintenance team in a timely manner. * Miscellaneous: * Make daily bank deposits. * Oversee the ordering of club supplies using specific budget based on club requirements. * Track Key Performance Indicators such as guest counts, cancels, info calls (weekly, monthly, annually). * Manage marketing efforts by ensure that staff is aware and trained on all marketing promotions. Qualifications: * 1 year of customer service experience is preferred, preferably in the fitness industry. * High school diploma/GED equivalent required. * Must be 18 years of age or older. * Current CPR Certification required. * Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft office Suite). * Superior problem solving skills. * Exceptional leadership and diplomacy skills. * A passion for health and fitness. Physical Demands/Requirements: * Continual standing and walking during shift. * Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift. * Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. * Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
