Job Summary

The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the branch, the direct supervision of employees, and assisting the Branch Manager in the growth of loans and deposits.

Primary and Essential Functions

  • Provide strong leadership to subordinate group and assure branch compliance to policy and procedures.

  • Open and close branch.

  • Review all daily transactions.

  • Maintain adequate security over cash.

  • Sign-up new members.

  • Receive share certificate requests.

  • Provide management access wherever dual-control is necessary.

  • Process and approve wire transfers.

  • Provide excellent customer service.

Secondary Functions

  • Back-up consumer loan officer when necessary.

  • Back-up member services representative when necessary.

  • Back-up branch manager as needed.

  • Perform general administrative duties such as attending meetings, report production, etc.

  • Perform community outreach activities.

  • Approve and submit ACH transactions.

  • May take and process consumer loan applications based on market need.

  • Must comply with all provisions of the Expedited Funds Availability Act (Regulation CC).

  • Must comply with all provisions of the Fair Credit Practice Rule.

  • Must comply with all provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

  • Must comply with all provisions of the Holder in Due Course regulations.

  • Must comply with all provisions of the Reserves on Transaction Accounts (Regulation D).

  • Must comply with all provisions of the Servicemembers' Civil Relief Act.

  • Must comply with all provisions of the Truth in Lending Act (Regulation Z).

  • Must comply with all provisions of the Truth in Savings Act (Regulation DD).

  • Consumer loan volume

  • Branch losses and profitability

  • Membership growth

Specified Authority Level

  • Authorize MSR cash drawer level up to $10,000

  • Authorize wires up to $100,000

  • Authorize withdrawals up to $1,000

  • Provide access to vault with one non-manager present

  • Access to Retail computer system

  • May approve consumer loans as designated in the Consumer Loan Policy

Competencies/Skills

  • Working knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to produce non-standard, creative products

  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and interpret data

  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

  • Ability to manage and motivate others effectively

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, business concentration preferred

  • 3 or more years of experience in banking/mortgage

  • Consumer lending experience

Physical Demands

This role reports directly to the Human Resource Manager and dotted line to the plant manager.<br> <br> Key aspects of this role include developing and implementing employee retention and engagement strategies; training and development oversight; strong labor relations skill set and experience in developing company policies/best practices.</p> <p>Finally, this role is key in developing strong employee relationships and in part, that is established by having employees, supervisors and leaders know who you are – this role requires someone who is willing to develop and grow a manufacturing floor presence and become heavily involved with the plant supervisor level, as influencer and accountability partner. Additional expectations include working closely with hourly associates to develop sustainable and easy to manage employee engagement activities and plans.</p> <p><strong>Major Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must have experience in developing, implementing and coordinating positive employee retention and relations planning, which includes: employee incentives, recognition and award programs, employee activities involving town halls, picnics/luncheons, bulletin board (electronic and static) and other related activities that positively acknowledges the value our employee bring to the business.</li> <li>Possess a strong background in developing/implementing/facilitating training on the manufacturing floor and corporate leadership.
