Position Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Trains or oversees training for all warehouse, inventory control and truck driving staff to enable them to perform their jobs at an optimum level. Includes job specific training, safety training, Dexter Trailer Supplies policies & procedures training, and any other training relevant to their position.

• Cross-trains warehouse and truck driving staff & inventory control in as many branch functions as deemed practical for sustained and efficient branch operations.

• Supervises the work performance of all warehouse, inventory control, and truck driving staff.

• Establishes priorities and ensure procedures are being followed to regulate the processes, tasks, and activities of the branch warehouse and inventory control staff. Includes scheduling their workload so that all customers are serviced in a timely fashion and using staff effectively to perform tasks or handle responsibilities based on their skills.

• Reviews Price and Availability requests, and, in consultation with the Branch Manager, makes decisions regarding feasibility of requests.

• Prepares and/or monitors all paperwork necessary for the operating functions of the branch.

• Supply final approval that all research and proper steps have been taken to resolve vendor shipping discrepancies, backorders and vendor problems after discussing with Branch Manager.

• Under the direction of the Branch Manager, plans, prepares, and conducts Branch Meetings, Distribution Meetings, and Safety Meetings, assisted by the Warehouse Supervisor.

• Acts as Branch Manager when Branch Manager is out of the branch.

• Completes all other assignments/projects as assigned by management in a timely manner.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Requirements:

• Associates degree in business administration, Operations Management, and related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• 4+ years supervisory experience managing a team of 10 or more employees.

• 4+ years work experience in distribution, logistics, and warehouse environment.

• Strong problem solver, critical thinking and ability to multi task.

• MS Office

Preferred Requirements

• Capable of lifting objects of variable size up to 50 pounds.
