Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process/issue new bonds, bond renewals, and riders

  • Maintain files and documentation in Agency Management System

  • Utilize industry specific applications to manage bonding process, and bond issuance

  • Utilize surety websites to produce online bonds

  • Maintain and update electronic client bond files

  • Receive, manage and dispatch correspondence promptly

  • Act as liaison with surety and maintain surety relationships while servicing accounts

  • Review and interpret information presented in a bond request

  • Review construction contracts with regards to Bond Requirements and contract language bond prep issues

  • Collaborate with Bond Director, producers, surety underwriters on behalf of client

  • Relay proper underwriting needs, guidelines and terms

  • Assist with resolution of client/carrier accounting issues

  • Oversee proper workflows, processes and efficiencies

Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience working with Surety, including in an insurance brokerage environment preferred

  • Prior office-based customer service (other than food or retail)

  • Prior bookkeeping and/or accounting experience (desirable)

  • Prior customer service in banking or insurance is highly desirable

  • Prior paralegal experience is highly desirable

  • High school graduate required; college experience preferred

  • Prior experience in a professional office setting (minimum of 3 years)

Technology Skills:

  • Applied Epic or similar agency management experience, preferred but not required

  • Erlon or similar surety bonding software experience, preferred but not required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently

  • Attention to detail and commitment to a high level of accuracy

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude

  • Ability to pass a clerical assessment

  • Able to pass drug and background checks

  • Neat, tidy, professional appearance

  • Punctual

  • Good team skills, works well with colleagues and peers

Pay Details:

Annual Salary: $85,000 - $100,000
