Job Summary:

The Assistant Banquet Manager is responsible for overseeing the set-up, design and presentation of each banquet to ensure a successful and well-coordinated event.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative duties including scheduling, review of time cards and payroll

  • Check all banquet rooms for proper set-up, cleanliness and maintenance.

  • Coordinate server assignments with captain and brief servers prior to the event at the pre-shift meeting.

  • Check linen requirements and order accordingly.

  • Coordinate the number and placement of floral arrangements with florist.

  • Check staffing for following days events, ensuring adequate coverage.

  • Present check to guest.

  • Supervise captains, set-up supervisor, servers, and convention service persons.

  • Attend all meetings as assigned by manager to include but not limited to Pre-Con, meeting with clients, in house training or preplanning event meetings.

  • Communicate with other departments regarding times, counts and last minute changes.

  • Participate in supervisory duties such as hiring, training, disciplining, documentation and employee evaluations.

  • Maintain overall cleanliness and orderly condition within the banquet area.

  • Check audio-visual schedule daily.

  • Assist Banquet Manager in the planning and operation of all Special Events.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

  • Knows, models and integrates PBC culture (mission, values, and standards)

  • Comply with the Pebble Beach safety and health policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned by Banquet Manager

Absolutely Required Skills:

  • 2 years experience as an Assistant Banquet Manager or 5 years industry knowledge

  • Manage the day to day operation with all scheduled staff

  • Ability to communicate clearly with excellent customer service and problem solving skills

  • Good planning and organizational skills

  • Supervisory experience required

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of buffet design and set-up preferred

Job Summary: The Assistant Beverage Manager will manage all aspects of the beverage operation to ensure five star service standards. You will be responsible for maximizing the financial performance of the beverage operations by providing the highest possible guest service, products, and by fostering a positive work environment for all employees. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Directly responsible for supervision of Beverage Department (Traps, Lobby Lounge, Patio Bar, and Service Bar) ensure management coverage and floor presence as needed. * Oversees all bars activities; conduct beverage inventories and provide controls to ensure the proper handling and accounting. * Ensure timely completion of safety inspections and training on the monthly basis. * Perform housekeeping and maintenance walkthrough, generate report and follow up with appropriate maintenance requests. * Oversee menus printing and coordinate SMS POS system changes. * Perform huddles on a daily basis. * Train, develop and motivate staff to exceed established service standards and PBC Universal Service Standards. * Ensure that on-going service training programs are provided covering service and sales techniques. * Handle special requests, complaints and billing discrepancies; service recovery * Review guest comment cards; keep records of incidents requiring communication with guests. * Keep staff informed of VIP and group schedules and any other special arrangements and events and hotel activities. * Interface with all departments to ensure that guest needs are met. * Participate in recruitment, hiring, promotion and employee documentation * Uphold company standards of conduct, grooming, and dress * Represent beverage at all appropriate meetings such as staff, pre-convention, training and Food and Beverage meetings. * Provide input on all capital expenditures. * Be a hands-on Assistant Manager by providing handson assistance whenever necessary. * Follow all PBC, local, State & Federal health &safety standards, alcohol awareness and ABC guidelines * Plan and execute private events in the beverage operation. * Other projects as assigned by the Beverage Manager or Food and Beverage Director Absolutely Required Skills: * 3+ years as a line supervisor, preferably with a 4 or 5 star resort * Supervisory, time management and problem-solving skills required * Valid California drivers license * Must be knowledgeable of all aspects of the beverage operations * Excellent management, motivational and organizational skills required * Knowledge of food, wine and spirits necessary * Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations in a professional manner * TIPS certification Why work for us: * Enjoy world-class health and wellness benefits after the 90th day of employment.
