The Office of the Attorney General is seeking a qualified attorney to serve as an Assistant Attorney General in the Technology and Procurement Law Section of the Government Operations & Transactions Division. The successful candidate will serve as an advisor to the Virginia Information Technologies Agency, the Department of General Services' Division of Purchases and Supply, and other agencies as needed.
Duties will include providing legal advice and assistance relating to public procurement and contracting, technology-related law, commercial transactions including technology contracts and licensing, administration of public bodies, employment law, and general advice as needed. This attorney will also assist in preparing official opinions, respond to citizen inquiries, and review legislation. Representation before state or federal courts or administrative appeal boards may be required.
Applicants must have graduated from an accredited law school and be admitted to, or eligible for admission to, the Virginia State Bar. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and writing abilities and oral communication skills, and the ability to work with client agency management. Two or more years' relevant experience is preferred.
