SUMMARY: The Assistant Athletic Trainer serves to aid the sports medicine staff in multiple capacities. They will act under the direction of the Head Team Physician and Head Athletic Trainer. Should it be necessary, the Assistant Athletic Trainer may be required to fill the role of the Head Athletic Trainer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist and work under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer with daily activities pertaining to the medical coverage of the New England Revolution. Such activities include but are not limited to:
Administering appropriate care/first aid to injured athletes
Implementing use of therapeutic modalities as indicated
Supervising and instructing athletes during therapeutic exercise
Daily injury tracking and documentation
Communication with coaching staff, management, and physicians
Maintaining a safe and healthy athletic training room
Scheduling appointments for athletes
Special projects and assignments as business dictates
Travel to away games, as needed.
Be on-site for training sessions, weight room sessions, and home games.
Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPAA.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must be NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer
Must be licensed, or eligible for licensure, in the state of Massachusetts
Must be certified in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer
Must have two (2) years of experience in athletic training setting
Able to use Computer-based injury tracking software
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) a plus
Professional/High level Soccer experience a plus
Must have attention to detail and focused concentration
Must be able to learn new tasks and complete tasks independently
Must be able to make timely decisions in the context of the workflow
Must possess strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and responsiveness
Must be able to adhere to process protocol and must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner
