General Summary:
Assist the head athletic trainer in the prevention and treatment of sports related injuries and conditions.

Job Description:

  • Maintains medical records on athletes.

  • Provides treatment and rehabilitation for student athletes.

  • Provides pre-event preparation and emergency coverage at intercollegiate and competitions.

  • Works with the team physician to make decisions regarding athlete's readiness for activity following injury.

  • Travels with teams to provide athletic training services.

  • Covers summer sports camps as scheduled by Head Athletic Trainer

  • Follows NCAA compliance guidelines

  • Follows HIPPA protocols as directed


  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Previous collegiate athletic training experience is preferred.

  • National Athletic Trainer's Association Certification and current American Red Cross CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, or equivalent.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel.

Additional Information:

Position will remain open until filled. This position is full-time for 11 months with the month of July off.

Salary: DOE

This is a full time position with excellent benefits. SPU pays the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance. SPU makes contributions to an employee HSA account and to a retirement account after one year of eligibility in the plan.
