Advance degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine or related field or equivalent education and experience.
Job Summary
The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist in the daily health care of student athletes and athletic training room operation under the direction of the Associate AD for Sports Medicine and Medical Director; will record and maintain appropriate medical records; will supervise and work with other Certified Athletic Trainers to provide daily practice/event coverage and travel with assigned sport(s). Will also assist other sports as needed. Will supervise and evaluate athletic training students in the clinical setting; will maintain inventory and supplies; will screen and refer injured/ill student-athletes to team physicians; will always represent Radford University and the Sports Medicine Department with the utmost professionalism.
Required Qualifications
Advanced degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field or equivalent education and experience; Board of Certification (BOC Certified); Virginia Athletic Training Licensure or eligible; Basic Life Support or CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an NCAA Athletic Setting; Experience with electronic medical records.

National Athletic Trainers Association Certification, NATA BOC, Virginia Athletic Training Licensure, CPR/First Aid and AED Certified required. CPR/First Aid and AED Certified Instructor preferred.
