Job Details:

Mercer Athletics is searching for an Assistant Athletic Trainer on the Macon, Georgia campus.

Responsibilities:

The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing comprehensive health care for student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics. This position will work in conjunction with a variety of approved healthcare providers. Individual will coordinate athletic training services working with coaches, strength and conditioning, academics, and administration. Must comply with HIPAA regulations, University policy, and NCAA compliance.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field from an accredited college/university is required along with some prior experience in an athletic training program. Candidates must have NATOBC certification and have (or be eligible for) Georgia Licensure for Athletic Training. Candidates with a master's degree in athletic training or a related field are desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Examination, assessment, and diagnosis of injury/illness to determine appropriate course of action

  • Ability to communicate with diverse population

  • Able to implement rehabilitation protocols and use therapeutic modalities and exercise to provide accommodation in sport related injury/illness

  • Assess readiness for safe return to play

  • Coordinate medical appointments and mange athletic training facility.

Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier as this position requires travel.
