We are currently seeking an Assistant Athletic Director to serve Granville High School and Middle School. Successful candidates will have an administrative license and experience in grades 7-12 as well as model the District's mission, vision and values.

Title: Assistant Athletic Director Grades 7-12

Reports to: Athletic Director

Employment Status: Administrator - Regular Full Time

Job Objective: To provide support and assistance to the building principals and athletic director in all activities and tasks, projects, and events while implementing the policies of the Board of Education. To support the Athletic director with supervision and oversight of the Granville Schools Athletic Department that manages a total 41 athletic programs. 29 Varsity Teams and 12 Middle School Teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in administration or alternative training/experience.

  • Current, valid Superintendent, Principal, or administrative specialist license

  • Three years administrative or comparable experience.

  • Alternative to the above as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.

  • Meets all mandated health requirements.

  • A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.

  • Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.

  • Keeps current with technology and other workplace innovations that support job functions.

  • Effective organizational, planning, and project management skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of middle school interscholastic athletics under the direction of the 7-12 Athletic Director

  • Supervise and manage all home middle school interscholastic athletic events

  • Ensure the completion of the setup, tear down, and security of the athletic facility before during and after contests.

  • Supervise site managers in the setup, tear down, and security of the athletic facility before during and after contests.

  • Ensure that all facilities used for middle school interscholastic are properly maintained and report maintenance concerns to operations.

  • Support the Athletic Director in ensuring that all home athletic events have administrative supervision

  • Support the Athletic Director in the scheduling and oversight of all district athletic facilities and their maintenance through the District's online maintenance application (FMX)

  • Coordinate communication between, parents, coaches, participants, and middle school principal in relation to parent meetings, tryouts, practices, games tournaments, and other items pertaining to all programs.

  • Utilize a variety of methods to communicate information about middle school interscholastic athletics (e.g. athletic website, building and district list serve, social media, etc…)

  • Serve as the athletic liaison between the high school and middle school

  • Assist coaches and middle school principal with athletics related discipline issues. Prepares student conduct and discipline recommendation for principal's consideration

  • Supervise award system and process for all sports grades 7-12

  • Supports the Athletic Director entering League and non-league athletic events into OHSAA's required online platform

  • Support the Athletic Director to Secure support personnel for all interscholastic athletic events (e.g., security, timers, score keepers, announcers, ticket seller/takers, etc.)

  • Support the Athletic Director and building principal in monitoring eligibility of all middle school student athletes and help monitor the eligibility of high school athletes

  • Support the Athletic Director in assisting with all preseason meeting for both High School and Middle school parents and student athletes.

  • Support the Athletic Director in management of all home and away high school events as assigned

  • Support the Athletic Director with monitoring and updating athletic website and all team pages

  • Assist high school athletic director with creating online ticket for every home middle school and high school athletic contest

  • Support the Athletic office and Athletic Trainers to ensure all high school and middle school student-athletes have all required forms on file and up to date in the District's approved digital database

  • Support the Athletic Director to verify all preseason compliance documentation is is complete.

  • Assist the Athletic Director in assuring that all middle school and high school coaches are properly certified and have satisfied all OHSAA, District, State Board of Education, and Ohio Department of Education and Workforce training requirements.

  • Assist the Athletic Director with processing recommendations for hiring athletics staff. in coordination with the building principals and the Director of Human Resources

  • Assist in the fiscal operations of the athletic department including the budgeting and appropriations process for Middle School Athletics

  • Assist in equipment management and inventory for each middle school program

  • Support the Athletic Director and the Director of Transportation with the coordination of transportation to athletic events

  • Assist the Athletic Director in coordinating services with outside vendors/contractors including photography of athletic pictures

  • Assists the Athletic Director in the Media and Vendor credentialing process for all athletic activities and events

  • Serve as Athletic Department representative at Booster meetings in the absence of the Athletic Director

  • -Supervise the utilization of District videoboard and scoreboard platforms for use in District events including collaboration with vendors, sponsors, public relations firm.

  • Collaborate with certified staff to oversee District messaging and contest information used on District videoboards and scoreboards including serving as final editor of student created content.

  • Coordinate and manage District streaming platforms for home athletic contests

  • Performs other specific job-related duties as directed

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises and evaluates assigned staff under the direction of the Superintendent. Assumes responsibility for results of the duties delegated to staff.
