Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing, Doctor of Nursing
SUMMARY:
The Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program is responsible for teaching graduate nursing students in both online and live class (hybrid approach) and clinical environments, maintaining current practice, advising nursing students, interviewing new applicants, serving on School of Nursing (SON) and university committees, and scholarship.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching
Teach 12 load contact hours each of the 3 semesters per year.
In addition, instruct students in DNP Practicums and Scholarly Projects
Evaluate student performance.
Maintaining Current Practice
Maintain knowledge of current practice, curriculum development, and certification for the program/track in which they teach.
Maintain CPR/BLS certification.
Advising
Meet with advisees as defined in the policy and procedure.
Upon approval, grant advisees' registration clearance.
Scholarship
Admissions, Service, and Scholarship
Participate in the admission interview process.
Serve on SON and university committees.
Provide service to the community.
The SON defines scholarship as keeping current with nursing practice, original research, and other scholarly activities such as publications, presentations, and participation in professional nursing organizations.
Various duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Doctoral degree required, DNP or PhD in nursing preferred. The graduate faculty of an advanced nursing practice program/track must have a Florida nurse practitioner license (ARNP or eligible), national certification in that program/track, and CPR/BLS certification.
Minimum five years teaching experience, online teaching preferred.
