Position Title Assistant, Associate or Full Professor/Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Job Type Faculty Position Information

The Assistant Dean for Student Affairs is a full-time administrative position with a faculty appointment. Salary, rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor), and appointment type (tenured, tenure-track, or non-tenure-track) are commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Assistant Dean for Student Affairs (ADSA) reports directly to the Dean of the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions (SPHP), and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of student services for the School of Pharmacy (SOP).

Responsibilities

  • Manage personnel within the SOP Office of Student Affairs.

  • Develop, implement, and enforce all SOP policies and procedures related to student services. Maintain ordered, accurate, and secure student records in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and all university policies.

  • Collaborate with the university's Office of Financial Aid to ensure adequate and timely guidance on financial aid for students.

  • Facilitate academic advising and tutoring to ensure student success.

  • Work in conjunction with the SOP administration and the Admissions Committee to develop, implement and evaluate recruitment and enrollment strategies.

  • Assist students in navigating available resourced for addressing concerns for disability accommodations, grievances, healthcare needs and other related issues.

  • Prepare and deliver reports related to student services for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain current resources on student admissions and advising, including the SOP Student Handbook.

  • Ensure adherence to all ACPE Standards 2016 requirements related to student services.

  • Serve on department, school, and university committees.

  • Teach in the Doctor of Pharmacy program.

  • Maintaining an appropriate scholarly focus-based background and discipline.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the Dean of the SPHP.

Classification 25-0000 Education, Training, and Library Occupations Required Qualifications

  • Terminal degree (PharmD degree or a Ph.D in a pharmacy related discipline).

  • Five years of experience as a faculty member in a School of Pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Administrative and supervisory experience.

  • Knowledge of contemporary issues in pharmacy administration.

  • Familiarity with the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) PharmCAS and AAMS software systems.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication skills to include written communication.

  • Strong customer service skills.
