Arthrex is seeking an Assistant Assembler who is self-motivated and detail oriented. Ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands and thrives in a teamwork environment. Individual will be responsible for performing various sub-assemblies for surgical hand instruments.

You will be joining a talented team at a global medical device company and contributing to delivering products and tools that help surgeons provide exceptional surgical outcomes for their patients.

Main Objective: Under direct supervision, performs basic mechanical assembly operations by using hand tools, and production machines. Products assembled include, but not limited to, various sub-assemblies and accessory surgical instruments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs assembly tasks such as buffing, filling, drilling, reaming, riveting, and sandblasting using hand tools and various production machinery

  • Reads and understands CAD drawings, sketches, specifications, and procedures

  • Works on assigned production orders per production schedule

  • Meets department productivity and quality standards

  • Continuous visual inspection for defects through microscope and notifies supervisor immediately of issues

  • Inspects parts to ensure conformance to quality specifications, using gauges, calipers, and other measuring tools as required

  • Reports malfunctioning of tools and equipment to management immediately

  • Follows department housekeeping procedures which include but are not limited to; keeping personal work station clean and organized; returning tools to proper locations; and organizing storage areas

  • Attends required job related training and interfaces with other departments and manufacturing personnel

  • Follows ISO related quality policies, procedures, and documentation requirements

  • Follows departmental safety requirements including proper use of PPE as required and reports safety issues and concerns immediately

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training: Must be able to read and interpret work instructions, CAD drawings, sketches, specifications, and procedures. Basic computer skills needed to be able to pull up procedures and complete trainings via computer.


Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment

Skills:
Use of various light duty machines, hand tools and measuring equipment.

Location: Walnut, CA Main Objective: Advocate and support the service department by managing and improving decontamination, evaluation, investigation, and documentation. The Service Supervisor will determine dispositions of returned devices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Ensures effective employee relations and provides employee coaching and development. * Makes employment decisions and ensures a harmonious and productive work environment. * Provides leadership for quality, productivity, safety, and morale to achieve positive results. * Conducts annual performance evaluations and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. * Works to continuously improve quality and processes and increase employee skills and capabilities via training. * Oversees decontamination, evaluation, and investigation of returned product as required by complaint procedures and ensures documentation entered in complaint program is timely and meets requirements. * Creates and manages department metrics and history reports for management review. Analyzes data and identifies trends for further review by appropriate departments. * Recommends engineering changes or CAPAs as necessary. * Act as liaison between service department and other departmental personnel to communicate needs and process/productivity changes needed to improve work flow. * Plan, coordinate and monitor activities of assigned projects to develop and implement procedures, processes and systems. * Convey required project data and information to project team members. * Follows business policy and guidelines to make warranty determinations and financial decisions. * Responsible for ensuring preventative maintenance is performed on equipment as required. * Works primarily unassisted. * Travels up to 25% domestically and internationally. Minimum of three years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment required. Experience servicing medical devices or similar products preferred. Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training: Knowledge of FDA Quality System Requirements, ISO 13485 Quality System Requirements, ISO 14971 Risk Management Requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices. Familiar with Bio-hazardous material handling, storage and disposal. Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills: Various light duty machines and hand tools. Project management system skills required, preferably Playbook, MS Project, or Workfront. Advance Microsoft Excel skills and Intermediate Microsoft Word and PowerPoint required. Must have working experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, troubleshoot assembly problems, collect data, analyzing the variables, drawing a conclusion on the best course of action.
