The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Curriculum and Instruction seeks applicants for temporary Assistant Adjunct Professor in Elementary Classroom Management (remote eligible from IA) for the Fall 2024 semester to teach two sections of Classroom Management for a total of 6 credit hours. It is taught synchronously in the evening to support the online transfer pathway for elementary education. This position is eligible to be performed remotely within the state of Iowa. Employees approved for remote work must comply with the requirements of our remote work policy and agreement.

Education Requirements:

Master's degree in Elementary Education or related field required.

Required Qualifications:

At least three years experience as a licensed educator in an elementary school; appropriate education and experience in the subject matter of the course; and comfort with teaching in a synchronous environment required.

This position is subject to Iowa state legislation requirement that faculty engage in at least 8 hours of planning, instruction and/or assessment at the appropriate K-6 grade level(s) per year. The hiring department head will assist with finding approved ways to fulfill these hours.

Desirable Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in Elementary Education or related field; experience working with pre-service educators; and experience teaching synchronously using Blackboard Ultra preferred.
