Description of duties & responsibilities: The purpose of this position is to support pricing and product development projects using modeling techniques including MG-ALFA, Excel and database software. This position will also be involved in product design and form filing development.
Create, setup and verify actuarial models in MG-ALFA, Excel, and database software.
Develop, analyze and verify actuarial assumptions based on experience studies.
Support policy form filing requirements.
Support the implementation and testing of new products from our product development models.
Support the illustration Actuary with setting up models to support illustration actuary testing and key pricing reports, updating assumptions, and checking models.
Research and analyze competitive information relating to products, pricing, financial information and experience assumptions.
Continue to pass actuarial exams with the goal of becoming a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. Be in compliance with program rules.
Required skills & experience:
2 years of related experience required.
Minimum of 3 exams in progression towards the FSA designation required.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word required.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Access required.
Proficiency with MG-ALFA and actuarial database software preferred.
Experience with databases and the ability to program and write queries preferred.
Strong problem solving abilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and organize a heavy workload.
Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematics required. Degree in Economics or Statistics is acceptable.
