REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related field; four years' financial management experience, at least three in A/P administration, and at least two providing customer service in some capacity; supervisory experience; experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system; experience in a high-volume A/P environment; excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail; ability to work independently with little instruction and as part of a team; advanced-level Excel skills; ability to clearly convey information; and ability to adapt to new programs in an emerging and changing environment. PREFERRED: experience working with cloud-based systems/Coupa; experience in a higher education or nonprofit environment; experience working with OCR and robotic automation; understanding of 1099 and 1042S tax rules and the preparation of appropriate tax files; and ability to initiate wire transfers and enter fast checks issued directly using bank-provided software. ASSISTANT ACCOUNTS PAYABLE MANAGER, Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF), to assist with planning and directing the work outcomes, processes, and systems of the Accounts Payable (A/P) unit. Will supervise staff at various levels and in various functions; drive the reporting, compliance, analysis, and control of accounting and financial functions of A/P, including payments, state and federal filings, and general ledger accounts; ensure the team's ability to analyze and resolve accounting discrepancies; ensure the timely resolution of issues and assist with the reconciliation process; be aware of the team's impact on other areas and for ongoing process improvement and fraud prevention; and oversee the development and maintenance of a team dedicated to providing excellent customer service to the MIT community.
