Description
This position has the potential for career growth up and through the Plant Manager and Director level positions. This position participates in the overall management of the plant and plays a key role with the Continuous Improvement of all processes and performance metrics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Owns and manages all aspects of the Operations objectives beginning with Safety in all processes thus maintaining the cooperative’s Mission and Values.
Drives activities to attain results through the Production and Warehouse/Shipping departments that meet established and improved expectations in line with Overall Operations Excellence Management (OEM).
Establish and implement standardized work practices and process throughout the Plant by the development and training, based on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and One Point Lessons (OPL).
Improve the Cost per Unit by improving the effectiveness of all efficiencies in all activities/aspects with the goal to minimize/remove, Waste, from the processes with measurable and reportable impact to the bottom line.
Guide, develop, and nurture the growth and career advancement of talents from within the team through formal and ‘on the job’ training, thereby increasing the overall skills metric of the Team.
Maintain continuity of effective liaisons with Union Shop Stewards and the Business agent in line with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Liaise with the Plant Controller, Quality Manager and Chief Engineer to achieve the overall Plant performance expectations pertaining to financial/metrics reporting, Safe Quality Food (SQF) compliance and Equipment performance effectiveness.
Organize effective data/information collection through the Production and Warehouse/Shipping departments for purposes of reporting and measurement to metric expectations on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Liaise with Director of Operations to ensure alignment to business plans and relevant execution expectations of the cooperative for the Plant.
Carry out any other assignments that may be assigned from time to time.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises the Production and Warehouse/Shipping managers, directly.

College education: Bachelor’s degree in a business, science, or engineering field.
Ten years or more of food manufacturing operational leadership experience.
Dairy experience desired but not mandatory.
Butter manufacturing experience desired but not mandatory.
NFDM powder manufacturing experience desired but not mandatory.
Condensed milk manufacturing experience desired but not mandatory.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Able to be flexible at times with hours worked.
Ability to work independently and function as a team player.
Ability to help lead operations in achieving key objectives and goals.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision independently or with a group.
Demonstrate reliability through good attendance and work ethic.
Follow company policies and safety regulations.
SQF experience.
Lean six sigma experience.
Ability to identify, implement, and sustain Key Process Indicators (KPI’s).
