Position summary:

A strong leadership role having responsibility of leading Liquid Bulk assets, Microbulk/Small Bulk assets, equipment rebuilds, and the quality program including data driven decision and recommendations to management utilizing forward view of new and lost business forecast. Additionally, provide appropriate and accurate assignment of existing assets to the Project Engineering Group and complete, safe, and timely removal scheduling of lost business to minimize overall costs to Air Products and improve profit potential of all projects.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Strategic management and monitoring of the CE Asset supply chain for both Liquid Bulk and Microbulk, including optimization utilizing data driven decisions based on costs, business forecasting (installations and removals), inventories (new and idle), and strategic supplier partnerships.

  • Assets include: Liquid Bulk and Microbulk tanks, tubes, vaporizers, HSM,

  • Products include: Atmospheric gases, Hydrogen, Carbon Dioxide, Helium

  • Utilize KPI's/Metrics to provide transparency to the available inventory (Ready, In Progress, and Idle) with periodic feedback from/to our stakeholder's to support business needs

  • Utilize KPI's/Metrics to lead, promote and provide transparency to the performance of team, vendors, regional engineers and business to communicate success and/or identify improvement opportunities.

  • Responsible for tanks rehabs / rebuilds: Overall responsibility for providing equipment to the sub-regions through initial asset request, rehab, and shipment to project site including ownership of our rehab shop relationship.

  • Lead the capital support budget for new and rehab equipment required to support the project pipeline and the budget for system removals. This involves leading the accounting aspect of new equipment including team functions such as project building, EAR circulation, requisitions, purchase orders, capitalization, asset disposals, and invoicing. This also involves detailed annual spend forecasting for inclusion in the company's operating plan.

  • Overall responsibly for CE quality / cost of non-conformance work process and claim recovery working and negotiating with contractors / vendors, internal learning opportunities, trending, and root cause analysis

  • Evaluate various work processes for "as-is" and potential improvement initiatives, creating benefit cases and championing improvement projects

  • Responsible for sale of equipment requests, system / tank purchase requests, swap agreements / negotiation with competitors, and scrap decisions / campaigns.

  • Lead the overall lost business (Delta) process from initial submission to system removal. Monitor the rebilling capabilities and work with the sales organization for continual improvement. Lead the safety aspect of removal projects following APCI decommissioning and contractor procedures and entering near misses when necessary

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors This includes providing forecasts to vendors, collaboration with sourcing on supply agreements and contracts, evaluating supply chain and new vendors.

  • Review and approval of all crane lift plans for system removals

  • Maintain skilled and expert resources (Specialist, Technicians, and Coordinators) including direct responsibility for performance evaluations for the team and all necessary manager responsibilities

Education / Qualifications

  • Engineering degree, 5+ years of leadership experience

  • Shown leadership abilities

  • Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills, must have strong ability to multi-task in a busy work environment

  • Strong ability to lead conflict

  • Strong P&L mindset

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact with various disciplines across Customer Engineering

  • Capital project engineering experience required

  • Experience and knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety Standards, unwilling to compromise on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements

  • Organizational credibility able to influence business area, engineering and operating managers in decision-making process

  • Strong technical capabilities including the understanding of the equipment and process technologies employed in Customer Engineering

  • Data access/mining and reporting experience preferred

VIEW JOBS 11/21/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-19T00:00 Job Description and Qualifications Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a world-class manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate entry level opening for an Equipment Support Team Supervisor at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, PA. The Equipment Support Team (EST) is a 24/7 Technical Support Center with years of varying field and shop experience. The team is located at the Corporate Headquarters and responds to incoming phone calls to remotely analyze problems. The team also remotely monitors 330 equipment systems including advanced pumping equipment, membranes, hydrogen fueling stations, PSA's, and tank levels via the DOLV3 platform as well as remotely operating ~25 PSA's and membrane assets via the EST OSC. EST engages the appropriate support personnel including field technicians, when required, to maintain and troubleshoot these assets. They also work with Logistics to schedule efficient deliveries. The Supervisor for EST develops and maintains the work schedule, oversees daily activities at the desk including escalation of crisis management issues, provides guidance to the team, identifies and supports Business Improvement endeavors, and manages more complex issues requiring further action. Product supplies which EST supports include LIN, LOX, LAR, LHY, BHY, CO, CO2, and BHe. The Supervisor monitors notifications and work orders in SAP and helps identify near miss incidents and ensures that they are entered into Event Management including identification and implementation of corrective tasks. They escalate safety issues, as appropriate, to the North Subregion Manager as well as the appropriate Area Maintenance Managers. The Supervisor also investigates root causes of customer product interruptions associated with equipment and/or telemetry failures and ensures proper corrective actions are taken to eliminate reoccurrence. The Supervisor is responsible for setting and reporting performance against yearly objectives and KPI's for the team. This includes developing career development plans for each member with individual competency goals which support their individual growth. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Directly manages team members and supports their career development. * Maintains safe, reliable, and efficient system operations around-the-clock. * Manages the day-to-day activities of EST. * Provides guidance to help solve issues and ensure consistency across the team. * Interfaces with Customers, Sales, Maintenance, Engineering and Driver Safety to bring issues to the most optimum resolution. * Develops and maintains the EST Desk, Telemetry, and Scheduler work schedule, holiday, and vacation schedule and notifies the North Subregion Manager regarding overtime expenditures. * Reviews and approves weekly time entries for EST members. * Develops Career Development Plans for each team member each fiscal and supports progress on these growth plans throughout the year. * Ensures work processes are performed effectively and accurately. In conjunction with the team, drives solutions to streamline work processes. Executes productivity ideas in order to reduce costs. * Develops and ensures compliance with team KPI's. * Accountable for proper evaluation, of behalf of our drivers, of safe-to-deliver inspections for customer-owned assets. * Monitors notifications and work orders generated by EST to near misses, accurate handling, and identification of revenue opportunities. * Ensures requests are prioritized to mitigate customer product interruptions. Leads the investigation of as well as report findings of product interruptions at the weekly Product Interruption meetings. * Ensures proper training for all EST members. * Processes requests from Engineering and Sales to provide support for current and new customers focusing on reducing overall time required to bring resolution. * Follows up persistently with customers when dealing with a customer issue. * Supports EST by escalating alarms or inconsistent alarm documentation to the Non-Cryo, Advanced Systems, and/or HES Specialists and Engineers for resolution/correction. * Performs the tasks above in a manner which is customer-oriented.
