Position Purpose:

The Asset Protection Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store/multiple stores. They utilize tools to minimize loss to the Company, including but not limited to identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring the store's physical security, auditing the Electronic Article Surveillance and driving a shrink elimination culture in the store.

Other responsibilities include: preparing accurate and detailed case reports documenting your apprehensions and recoveries, preserving evidence, interacting with law enforcement and testifying in criminal and civil court actions. The Asset Protection Specialist must report any hazardous or unsafe condition to the Manager on Duty and carry out job responsibilities in a manner that minimizes the risk of injury to themselves, other associates, vendors, customers, and the Company. They must demonstrate integrity at all times, respond to asset protection and operational concerns of all associates and remain focused on store specific business objectives while supporting key asset protection and operational responsibilities.

Performs regular audits of all company owned infrastructure, hardware, and software assets. Specific duties will include managing scans for asset installs, install audits, inventory updates, monitoring and updating ticketing system and reconciliation for assets (including both hardware and software). This position will monitor end of life, yearly maintenance, subscriptions and licensing true ups. Responsible to provide asset auditing and status reporting services. Resolves escalated and non-routine incidents requiring analysis and evaluation by consulting with end user and/or completing more complicated tasks. Responsible for providing governance and oversight for the IT Asset Management processes, and continually evolving the procedures and practices. Must have skills: * Advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of Asset Management. * Basic Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices as related to service management * General knowledge and familiarity with networking, servers, operating systems, and personal computing applications. * Licensing compliance rules, retrieval, and interpretation of End User License and Product Use agreements. * Advanced software titles and licensing practices. * Enterprise ticketing systems and asset management discovery and database software, including SCCM, Tanium, and ServiceNow. Responsibilities: * Controls, tracks, and updates the receipt, identification, categorization, recording, and documentation of all IT assets for all hardware, software, and infrastructure assets. * Processes hardware and software tasks in ServiceNow for new installs, uninstalls, updates, inquires, and disposals, updating asset records as appropriate. * Reviews and reports on software licensing and maintenance contracts including usage volumes. * Monitors, reports and coordinates the maintenance of company assets with business owners, including new purchases and retirement of assets. * Audits software compliance with purchase agreements and invoices to determine the needs for additional licenses, version upgrades or licensing reductions to minimize company risks. * Performs auditing through data collection and analysis for software and hardware to identify incorrect data entries, end of life, inactive software and hardware usage, and inactive users. * Reconciles asset records when discrepancies are found in the asset management system through audit processes or independently discovered. * Directs and consults on the purchase and installation of software assets including versioning, maintenance, pricing, and license quantity. * Prepares and communicates recommendations for purchasing and removing software/hardware based on audit results; follows-up to ensure recommendations are acted upon. * Assists in the development of asset standards involving the identification, classification, and control of assets. * Coordinates with other departments as needed to ensure companywide compliance for hardware and software assets. * Participates in monthly reviews to improve audit process and recommend new auditing to maintain tighter controls around company assets. * Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
