Position Purpose:

The Asset Protection Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store/multiple stores. They utilize tools to minimize loss to the Company, including but not limited to identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring the store's physical security, auditing the Electronic Article Surveillance and driving a shrink elimination culture in the store.

Other responsibilities include: preparing accurate and detailed case reports documenting your apprehensions and recoveries, preserving evidence, interacting with law enforcement and testifying in criminal and civil court actions. The Asset Protection Specialist must report any hazardous or unsafe condition to the Manager on Duty and carry out job responsibilities in a manner that minimizes the risk of injury to themselves, other associates, vendors, customers, and the Company. They must demonstrate integrity at all times, respond to asset protection and operational concerns of all associates and remain focused on store specific business objectives while supporting key asset protection and operational responsibilities.

Formulates Departmental positions on waterfowl projects, monitors, review and prepares technical waterfowl resource plans, reports or studies; collects, reviews, analyzes and evaluates biological information for the development and implementation of natural resource and outdoor recreation management programs; assists in the preparation of the operations budget for the Program; has discretionary spending authority; assists in liaison activities with State, Federal and local agencies and the general public. Provides an extension service relative to urban Canada geese and nuisance or injurious Canada geese; issues Canada goose removal permits; develops and recommends administrative rules relative to urban and resident Canada goose management. Minimum Requirements:Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to a Master's degree in wildlife resource management and two years directly related professional experience, or a Bachelor's degree in the field supplemented by four years directly related professional experience. Requires thorough knowledge of State and Federal law, rules and regulations pertaining to waterfowl resource conservation. Requires thorough knowledge of Division objectives, policies, programs and services, Requires possession of valid Illinois driver's license. Requires thorough knowledge of waterfowl identification and management techniques; requires extensive knowledge of public relations principles and techniques.
