SUMMARY Provides underwriting and insurance processing support for the REO Asset Protection Division. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Underwrites and assesses all new and renewal business within underwriting authority by obtaining relevant risk information for presentation in the agencys described format for efficient quoting and processing to accounts and agents.

Processes the monthly invoicing and billing activities by verifying invoice entries and making necessary corrections, researching and preparing invoices, and monitoring account status to ensure the timely and efficient completion of monthly invoices. Responds to asset protection questions by telephone, mail, or in person, and maintaining effective working relationships with current customers, prospective customers, and agency personnel. Prepares and processes the monthly Surplus Lines taxes and fees.

Prepares and submits the monthly Bordereaux Report. Assists in the processing of new and renewal insurance policies by verifying insurance coverage and premium amounts, updating policy account records with current data, updating insurance records, and communicating information to the appropriate department. Assists in processing claims by obtaining sufficient claim information from accounts, forwarding pertinent account and claim information to adjusting firm, and following-up with the adjusting firm to ensure that claims are handled correctly and in a timely manner.

Assists in providing testing and functionality analysis assistance to the IT department in preparing the original design and enhancements of the Websure database and other automation systems and procedures. Provides processing support to the Legal department in processing new agent contracts. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Must have a High School Diploma or equivalency.

Must have at least three (3) years of underwriting and insurance processing support in Personal or REO/Lender-placed lines insurance or related experience. Must have a working knowledge of Underwriting Property and General Liability Insurance and insurance procedures and practices. Must have a strong working knowledge of insurance coverage forms, and risk rating.

Must have a working knowledge of the general agency system and company operations. Must have a strong ability to focus on details, demonstrate accuracy, and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Must have a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

Must have strong verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be able to type a minimum of 35 wpm accurately and operate a calculator and basic office equipment. Must have licenses in P&C and Surplus Lines.

Must be able to stoop, kneel, and sit for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. of file boxes and the like. Must be able to travel to current and prospective customers or to attend classes/seminars ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SWBC is a Substance-Free Workplace and requires pre-employment drug testing.

Job Overview: The Asset Protection Detective's primary responsibility is to prevent the loss of company property while maintaining a safe business environment. Support store's efforts in providing the best customer service within a controlled environment so as to ensure maximum sales at the highest profit rate attainable. Under general supervision and established procedures, the Asset Protection Detective detects and apprehends shoplifters and dishonest employees. Macy's uses a scheduling plan that allows our associates to participate in the creation of their work schedules by managing availability and identifying preferences. Additionally, during key events and peak selling times, Macy's may offer additional shifts to our associates, which they may pick up using the self-scheduling tool. Essential Functions: * Respond to customer and associate incidents to facilitate first aid and minimize company liability * Recover stolen merchandise and apprehend shoplifters and other people who commit fraud or other criminal acts against the company * Investigate criminal violations against the person or property of any customer or associate that is committed on company premises * Prepare prompt and complete reports relative to all theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, accident investigations, audits, and other activities as assigned by the Asset Protection Manager * Have knowledge of and maintain strict compliance with the law and company policies concerning apprehensions, searches and seizures, and the preservation of evidence * Promote shortage awareness and theft deterrence among associates by conducting meetings and participating in training events * Successfully complete all Asset Protection training requirements including CPR and First Aid and maintain personal certifications as required by law * Conduct audits to ensure sales department compliance to merchandise exposure standards and asset protection policies * Testify in court concerning any case, criminal or civil, wherein the company is a party of interest to which the Asset Protection Store Detective is summoned * Works on special assignments, investigations, and surveillance as directed by Store Asset Protection Manager * Responds to alarm conditions at assigned store * Perform other duties as necessary * Follow shortage programs and procedures * Perform these functions in an efficient manner, as directed by the Supervisor * Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality Qualifications: Education/Experience: * High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college is desirable. * Completion of Store Detective Training program required upon assignment to position. Communication Skills: * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills: * Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. * Able to use a calculator. Reasoning Ability: * Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team and must have good time management skills. Physical Demands: * This position involves constant moving and standing. * Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours. * Involves lifting at least 30 lbs. * May occasionally involve reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. * May involve reaching above eye level. * Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
