A Best Buy Asset Protection Associate coaches and leads employees in asset protection best practices to ensure a safe, secure and profitable environment throughout the store. They work with the Asset Protection Lead to resolve any hazards or compliance issues and investigate any accidents. They also demonstrate preparedness and exhibit behaviors for proper emergency response procedures.

40% of your time you will:

  • Monitor the store for potential security risks and alarm function.

  • Protect against fraudulent activity by creating AP Alerts and reporting and documenting incidents properly when necessary.
    30% of your time you will:

  • Teach and coach store employees about the principles, standards and policies related to safety and crisis events and monitor their fulfillment.

  • Work with the Asset Protection Lead and others to resolve any hazards or compliance issues and investigate any employee or customer accidents.
    30% of your time you will:

  • Interact with customers and store employees to maintain a safe and profitable environment.

What are the Professional Requirements of a Best Buy Asset Protection Associate?

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of holidays, nights and weekends

  • Ability to lift or maneuver 50-100 pounds, with or without accommodations

VIEW JOBS 11/28/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-26T00:00 The primary function of the Asset Protection Agent (APA) is to meet asset protection objectives, prevent inventory shrinkage and deter criminal activity. This includes providing coaching/ training to associates and store leadership on identifying and deterring external theft through implementing Lowe's shrink programs. The APA will coordinate efforts with the Senior APOSM, DAPOSM and MORCM to identify key merchandise and stores that are being externally impacted. Based on external and Organized Crime activity the APA will leverage data/ resources to create a plan addressing exposures with training and external focuses to reduce activity. The APA is responsible for investigating and resolving issues related to criminal activity in accordance with Local, State, and Federal laws or company policy. Primarily focused on asset protection, operations, and safety policies/ procedures, the APA will monitor merchandise, customer, and associate activity as needed, reporting infractions to Store and AP Leadership. The APA will also support investigations of all company policies/ procedures when required. An individual in this position may on occasion need to effectively respond to potentially violent and/or physical altercations and will therefore need the ability to make quick, effective decisions and maintain an appropriate level of composure. Lastly, the Asset Protection Agent is responsible for completing all other duties as assigned.
