Responsible for preventing loss to the organization through the review and analysis of data in accordance with standards set within the department. Responsible for partnering with various departments of the organization to facilitate change to prevent ongoing and recurring loss.

Provide support to field operations by providing detailed analysis and thorough investigations as assigned. Assist in the implementation and upgrading of loss prevention systems as assigned. Provide training to field teammates on loss prevention systems as assigned.


Complete assigned cases / investigations in accordance with department and organization policies and procedures.

Act as a resource to loss prevention field team and other departments in the organization.

Review assigned data (from multiple systems) and video footage for the purpose of minimizing loss to the organization in accordance with department and organization policies and procedures.

Analyze and review processes, systems, or effectiveness of programs as assigned. Identify, recommend, and implement changes to current LP systems or business processes.

Promptly identify issues, and partner with key stakeholders to implement required change as assigned.

Support and manage risk management system installations, upgrades, data feeds, report creation, publication, modification and others as assigned.

Provide guidance and/or supervision to lower level associates or associates new to the department.

Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Satisfactory performance reviews.

Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Good analytical ability and competence in problem solving.

Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

Ability to interact with all levels of management in the organization.

Strong computer knowledge, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, COGNOS, POS monitoring software

Excellent customer service skills

May be asked to obtain or maintain guard licensing, AED certification, or emergency responder certification.

Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

3 - 5 years of analysis in an accounting/finance, I/T, or other analytical area

Prior experience in store operations, including front end, scanning, receiving, or store management preferred

4 Year College Degree in Accounting, Computer Science or other preferred.

3-5 years of analysis in an accounting/finance/IT or other analytical area preferred

Overview of Your Role The Senior Commercial Credit Analyst analyzes the financial condition and creditworthiness of new money requests and annual reviews for commercial members, determining credit risks through detailed financial statement analysis, industry assessment/comparison, collateral valuation, cash flow coverage, etc. Individual is responsible for providing a comprehensive and objective presentation of key facts, ensuring all extensions of credit are in congruence with SEFCU's policies and procedures and NCUA regulations. The role will require close interaction with the lenders and senior management. This role will be responsible for handling the larger dollar amount and more complex real estate and C&I transactions in the portfolio. The individual will also be responsible for mentoring (and training) junior or new team members and will be a resource to management on special projects as needed. Accountabilities and Responsibilities * Review commercial loan packages/requests for completeness; determine the need for more thorough investigation or additional information. * Work in tandem with lenders to determine loan(s) structure/terms, considering the borrowers' performance, payment history, and activity to further mitigate risk to SEFCU. * Spread financial statements and prepare cash flow and other financial models (as needed) to sensitize various conditions impacting the transaction. * Prepare credit presentations, which should include (but is not limited to) review of all financial statements, tax returns, due diligence reports, credit bureaus, appraisals, internal credit information, industry research and peer data. * Analyze credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money; prepare summaries, present facts and offer well-informed opinions concerning credit-worthiness * Analysis should include risk rating justification and well-supported identification of risks and mitigants. * Monitor credit policy and NCUA guidance to ensure compliance with all; non-compliance and associated risks should be discussed and escalated. * Interact with borrowers, lenders and third parties to resolve credit/underwriting questions. * Assist lenders in presenting deals to the proper authority level for approval and be prepared to address questions during discussions or committee presentations. * Monitor loan requests throughout the approval process; ensure the appropriate approval authorities as detailed in SEFCU's Commercial Policy have been obtained. * Perform credit function in regard to loan renewals and annual reviews with standards comparable to new loan requests. * Responsible to assist in the training of junior/newly hired analysts and support staff. * Remain current on specific technical, regulatory and compliance topics within his/her areas of responsibility. * Maintain proficiency on all systems and applications required to perform job duties and responsibilities. * Remain current on market conditions in various geographic regions in real estate including but not limited to saturation levels, vacancy rates, rental rates etc. * Follow through on assignments, issues and commitments meeting all required and stated deadlines. * Identify changes in policy and procedures that will improve operations, increase efficiencies while maintaining low risk to credit union assets. * Assist with key departmental and/or organizational projects or initiatives. * Ability to assist in the management of the department in the Manager's absence. * Other duties as needed.
