The Asset Protection Analyst will independently collect and analyze transaction data to identify fraudulent activity in retail systems and ensure compliance with company asset protection policies. Provide asset protection analytical support to Regional Asset Protection Managers and upper Management. Conduct cash over/short, bank debit adjustments and fraudulent credit card investigation with data provided by the sales audit and cash management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Initiate quality case leads for investigations and provide data and investigative support that will lead to successful case closures.
Investigate potential losses identified through aspect, sales audits, leads, tips, etc. and provide investigation work up to field Asset Protection Team.
Review data and analyze exceptions to identify behaviors that contribute to shrink and loss to the company.
Work with AP Teams and cross functional partners in order to fully prepare cases of loss for investigation and resolution.
Create and maintain management reports to track exceptions and provide analytical data to the field Asset Protection team.
Refine exception parameters and develop reports based on the needs of the business.
Seek opportunities to best utilize Exception Applications through industry benchmarking, User Groups, and working closely with Application Providers.
Interact with various levels of management to provide support on projects and investigations as needed.

Strong working knowledge of LPMS, Vigil, 3XLogics systems of other similar technology systems.
Acts as liaison between Legal, Risk Management, and Human Resources or other business partners to ensure compliance of LPMS system and other components of liability.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
2-3 years of experience in Data Analysis and/or Loss Prevention/Asset Protection.
Strong fundamental business and analytical skills. Ability to analyze data and use deductive reasoning to quickly surface patterns that may be fraud related.
Solid understanding and working knowledge of POS based Exception Reporting.
Solid oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with all departments and management level within the company.
Financial and statistical modeling a plus.
Ability to relate and understand investigative processes in order to successfully contribute to the resolution of internal cases.
Proficiency in Excel and Access including the ability to write queries and import/export data as needed.
Strong self-discipline and focus required; ability to work on multiple cases simultaneously.
Must be very thorough and detail oriented.
Must be able to work independently and on multiple projects and complete/meet timelines.
Strong working knowledge/understanding and usage of Excel (Pivot Table), Word, Powerpoint.
