Fortress Investment Group seeks an Asset Manager to administer and monitor specialty finance transactions relating to its longstanding Lender Finance group.

The Lender Finance group is part of Fortress's Credit business and typically seeks to provide specialty finance lenders with financing solutions secured by diversified portfolios of both traditional and esoteric consumer and small business loans/receivables. The group may also seek to opportunistically purchase portfolios of similar loans/receivables.

The Lender Finance Asset Manager will:

  • Control and monitor closed transactions to ensure compliance with legal documents

  • Assist in the review and negotiation of legal documents

  • Assist in the development of underwriting practices and standards as well as due diligence and surveillance programs

  • Facilitate and execute client fundings (borrowing base confirmation) and monitor performance metrics (covenant and collateral triggers) and client reporting

  • Produce monthly and quarterly asset management reports

  • Produce monthly mark-to-market valuations of investments and work with third party valuation agents on a quarterly basis

  • Settle loan transactions for fees and interest

  • Coordinate transactions with various third parties (e.g., servicers, back-up servicers, trustees, collateral custodians and clients)

  • Participate in pre/post-closing due diligence including portfolio surveillance and credit monitoring

  • Analyze and stratify prospective and current client portfolio data

  • Assist in preparing cash flow models

  • Maintain credit files and documentation for Lender Finance transactions

  • Facilitate and execute on amendments and restructuring of loan facilities

  • Collaborate on regular and ad hoc assignments with in-house teams such as Accounting, Legal, Operations and Treasury

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field and at least two years of related experience in asset based credit analysis

  • A background in investment banking, securitization banking, asset backed finance, asset backed securities portfolio management or asset based lending

  • An understanding of capital structures and balance sheets, familiarity with securitization structures and the ability to analyze a specialty finance company and its assets

  • An understanding of rating agency methodologies for traditional and esoteric assets

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills

  • Strong analytical abilities and negotiating skills

  • Demonstrated strength in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

The Senior Director, Underwriting manages large transactions with important clients and may act as the No. 2 on the largest and most complex transactions. The role leads a deal team with responsibility for evaluating, negotiating, and closing middle market leveraged loans and provides training and guidance to more junior staff.
