Asset Management Specialist - Crows Landing, CA (Stanislaus)

Your Scope:

Asset Management Specialists improve the efficiency of supply chain operations through data collection and analysis. This entry-level position requires excellent attention to detail, in-depth understanding of the delivery process and exceptional analytics skills. They use interpersonal and problem-solving skills to gather information from different departments to recommend ways of improving the supply chain. They will lead key Sales and Operation Planning ("S&OP") Meetings working with Facility Management and CES to enhance communication. This position is an entry level role in the organization and will focus on gaining the necessary skills and knowledge base to enable a successful career in Covanta. As the successful candidate grows, the role will have an increasing number of facilities managed and independence for decision making.

This position will be able to set entry level financial goals and targets for the Company's key facilities including performing annual budgeting and forecasting activities, assisting with the creation of the Company's Long-Term Economic Model, and for reviewing with senior managers the overall budget and forecast. The role will partner with other Asset/Waste Management members, Operations Groups, and the Environmental Services Organizations to ensure accuracy of our forecasts on a short and long-term basis. They must be able to engage in constructive dialogue, use logic and problem-solving skills resulting in a thoughtful decision-making process to achieve success in the role and for the company.

The role will help conduct waste (fuel) procurement, fuel supply monitoring and planning, and other asset management and development activities at a/or multiple facilities. The individual will partner on revenue generating activities such as waste contracts as well as expense and capital items related to facility operations, improvements, and operational byproducts. With experience, the individual may take on further leadership tasks of increasing importance around revenue generation. This individual may also be the liaison for plant issues as it relates to waste procurement for local municipalities, clients, and profiled waste. Over time they may assist with community outreach and assist as the focal point for client concerns as required.

What You'll Do:


  • Fuel (waste) Supply management in coordination with Sales and Operational teams.

  • Develop and execute budgets and monthly forecasts to enhance supply chain operations.

  • Assist in promoting a positive image and inter-business relationship with partners and customers.

  • Liaise between facility and CES/Client/Municipality/Waste Managers.

  • Lead S&OP meetings increasing communication between key stakeholders to increase reliable service delivery to our customer base.

  • Analytics reporting I.e., Flash Reports, Turn Time/Tare Weight/Inventory Analysis, Etc.

  • Strategy development and/or strategy implementation.

What You'll Bring:

REQUIREMENTS (Education, Skills, Certificate, Licenses, Experience):

  • Associates (A.S.) or Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from accredited college or university.

  • At least 1 year of related experience and/or training in similar situation is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of industrial production or similar setting helpful.

  • Strong team player with prior leadership skills.

  • Ability to understand profit and loss, budgets and forecasts.

  • Must possess strong business acumen that highlights proactive thinking with detail-oriented and creative problem-solving approach.

  • Solid analytical, planning, and organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Exceptionally strong planning and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and execute in an operating business (Goal-oriented mindset).
