Summary of Position Requirements:

The Asset Management Associate will assist in all aspects of LMC's investments activities. The Associate will work with LMC's internal and external legal teams, regional development offices, Controllers and Investments team to ensure a proactive approach to internal and external compliance, reporting standards and partner communication.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Senior Asset Managers in creating and preparing property level business plans to maximize property value by meeting or exceeding underwriting assumptions

  • Provide analytical support on a wide variety of assignments including cash flow modeling and reforecasting, review of property operating statements, and market research

  • Assist in appraisals, valuations, and disposition processes

  • Analyze financial data and reports against budgets and financial benchmarks

  • Track historical Income and Expense data

  • Analyze granular month by month lease-up strategies

  • Manage monthly and weekly reporting

  • Collaborate with other internal business units to analyze vacancy, absorption, and rental rates

  • Assist in underwriting of new development or acquisition opportunities


Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate and/or Economics preferred, but not required

  • Advanced Microsoft applications experience (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, quantitative, writing and communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and results-oriented attitude

  • Ability to work as a team player

  • Outstanding time management skills

  • Self-starter and highly motivated

  • Ability to prioritize effectively and multi-task

Physical Requirements:

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the ability to work in excess of eight hours per day in the confined quarters of an office. Also requires the ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and/or carry items up to 25 pounds. Finger dexterity in operating a computer keyboard and calculator. Office work requires sitting at a computer monitor for extended periods of time, completing paperwork and to receive/return phone messages. Standing is required for filing and copying.

Job Purpose and Scope: Performs a variety of tasks associated with the monitoring, maintenance and servicing of commercial real estate loans on behalf of the Bank. Essential Job Functions: * Assists with underwriting and drafting loan modifications, documenting collection efforts, and performing various monitoring activities as they relate to an assigned portfolio of loans. * Works closely with team leads to manage the construction loan draws process including, but not limited to, ensuring compliance with budget, contracts and loan documents; engaging third party vendor relationships; monitoring and reviewing communications with project stakeholders regarding the draw and the state of development; ordering and reviewing title updates; and initiating transfer of funds to borrower. * Supports team leads with reviewing due diligence and third party reports, and conducts loan term reconciliation between loan approvals and loan documents. * Reviews and assists with recording performance data and assumptions in proprietary Bank financial Excel models. * Reviews and comprehends market data and real estate trends. * Addresses miscellaneous interim loan servicing issues and loan requests with Bank's customers. * Conducts ad hoc financial analysis, as required. * Assists senior staff members with other responsibilities in managing assets. * Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work. * Follows Bank policy, procedures and guidelines. * Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Knowledge of all types of real estate. * Knowledge of financial concepts sufficient to allow candidate to analyze complex industry, economic and financial data and interpret results and present findings. * Ability to problem-solve using analytical, logistical, and verbal/written communication skills. * Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. * Ability to demonstrate professional maturity to discuss complicated issues and opportunities with substantial real estate owners and developers. * Ability to articulate the strengths, weaknesses and issues related to a transaction, in both written and oral presentations. * Ability to multi-task and work well with exacting deadlines. * Ability to work under general supervision. * Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel (primary focus), PowerPoint and Outlook; knowledge of and skill using ARGUS.
